 Olympic Classes - Delta Lloyd Regatta - Medemblik NED - Final results, no North Americans in Medal Races The Delta Lloyd Regatta, event of the EUROSAF Champions' Sailing Cup 2016, ended yesterday with the Medal Races sailed in moderate conditions.
The Italian duel on top of the 470s went in favour of Simon Sivitz/Jas Farneti ITA, as Giacomo Ferrari/Giulio Calabro ITA had to be disqualified after an incorrect penalty repair. The report with a video interview. Diego Botin/Iago Lopez ESP won in the 49er and at the same time the Spanish selection for Rio. Schmidt/Böhme GER and Kostov/Cupac CRO completed the podium. Dorian Van Rijsselberghe NED was the premature winner in the RS:X men before the Medal Race already. Paul Rozier FRA and Aichen Wang CHN remained on their positions 2 and 3. Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL was first in the RS:X women windsurfers ahead of Peina Chen CHN and Stefania Elfutina RUS.

Marit Bouwmeester NED was the clear winner in the Lasers Radial ahead of Emma Plaeschaart BEL and Manami Doi JPN. Here the report with a video interview. The advantage of Rutger Van Schaardenburg NED in the Lasers Standard was by far big enough for the victory in the Lasers Standard ahead of Jeemin Ha KOR and Luke Elliott AUS.  2.4m, Skud-18, Sonar - Paralympic World Championship 2016 - Medemblik NED - Final results, Gold for Doerr USA and his team in the Sonars The Paralympic Classes World Championship 2016 ended yesterday with two races.
The big advantage of Heiko Kröger GER in the 2.4m keelboat before the last races yesterday was more than sufficient to grasp the World Champion's title, his 9th in the class. Damien Séguin FRA and Matt Bugg AUS earned Silver and Bronze. Clear victory in the Skud-18 as well where Monika Gibes/Piotr Cichocki POL, a new name on top of the class, easily defended their first place. The defending champions Daniel Fitzgibbon/Liesl Tesch AUS dropped on 3rd behind Alexandra Rickham/Nikki Birrell GBR after a disqualification. The closest fight for the title was in the Sonars where only the last downwind played in favour of Alphonsus Doerr/Hugh Freund/Brad Kendell USA finishing one point ahead of John Robertson/Hannah Stodel/Stephen Thomas GBR. The Bronze Medal went to Colin Harrison AUS and his team.

 Olympic Classes - Delta Lloyd Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 4, ranks 14 and 21 for the CAN windsurfers The Olympic Classes terminated the Qualification Series yesterday on the Ijssel-Meer in a 14-16 kn breeze, and today, the Medal Races are on the program.
Two Italian teams will duel for victory in the 470s. Winning twice yesterday, Ferrari/Calabro ITA replaced the tied Sivitz/Farneti ITA on rank 1. Luise and Helene Wanser GER as 5th are now the best-ranked women's team. Diego Botin/Iago Lopez ESP are the premature winners in the 49ers as their advantage on the second-ranked duo Kostov/Cupac CRO and Schmidt/Böhme GER is 21 points. Same situation in the RS:X men windsurfers, where the Olympic Champion Dorian Van Rijsselberghe NED has 33 points' lead over Paul Rozier FRA. Finishes in the 20ies again and the discard made the Canadians clearly drop out of the top-10. Zach Plavsic CAN on 14th and Gabriel Verrier-Paquette CAN on 21st are the final ranks of the North Americans. In the RS:X women windsurfers, the leading Lilian De Geus FRA was forced to quit the competition with a foot injury. Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL is now on top with a 7 points' advantage on Peina Chen CHN. First in the Moths is still Ben Koppelaar NED. Sven Kloppenburg GER advanced on rank 2.

 Laser - Delta Lloyd Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 4, Karim CAN 26th The Qualification Series at the Delta Lloyd Regatta on the Ijssel-Meer ended yesterday with the last two races sailed in a 14-16 kn wind breeze.
Marit Bouwmeester NED earned another two bullets and is the premature winner in the Lasers Radial before today's Medal Race. Her advantage on Emma Plaesschart BEL is 25 points. With only a one point deficit, Manami Doi JPN on 3rd will fight for Silver with the Belgian.
In the Laser Standards, Rutger Van Schaardenburg NED has a solid 8 points' lead over Jeemin Ha KOR. Luke Elliott AUS and Juan Maegli GUA will duel for Bronze. Hugh McRea CAN is behind Fillah Karim CAN on 26th after the final races, as a blackflag disqualification relegated him on rank 38.

 2.4m, Skud-18, Sonar - Paralympic World Championship 2016 - Medemblik NED - Day 4 After yesterday's two races and before the final regatta today, nothing has been decided yet in the Paralympc Worlds on the Ijssel-Meer.
Heiko Kröger GER, best of the day with the ranks 1 and 3 in the 2.4m keelboats has now an 8 points lead on Damien Séguin FRA and his chances for the title look good. Only 2 points behind the French follows Matt Bugg AUS. Dee Smith USA on the 5th place is too far from a medal with a 10 points' deficit. Peter Eagar CAN is 24th. The solid lead of the surprise team Monika Gibes/Piotr Chichocki POL over the tied defending champions Daniel Fitzgibbon/Liesl Tesch AUS and Alexandra Rickham/Nikki Birrell GBR in the SKUD-18 is 12 points. John McRoberts/Jackie Gay CAN are 4th with 5 points behind a Silver or Bronze. Sarah Skeels/Cindy Walker USA are 9th. First in the Sonars are Alphonsus Doerr/Hugh Freund/Brad Kendell USA 4 points ahead of John Robertson GBR and his team. Colin Harrison AUS, Lasse Klötzing GER and Aleksander Wang-Hansen NOR have all still a chance for a Medal. Paul Tingley CAN and his team are 7th.

 Olympic Classes - Delta Lloyd Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 3, Canadians plunge in RS:X men Moderate winds around 12 kn prevailed on the third day of the Delta Lloyd Regatta on the Ijssel-Meer. With the discard in effect, numerous position changes in the overall rankings occurred.
Yesterday, Giacomo Ferrari/Giulio Calabro ITA won both heats reducing the backlog on the still leading Simon Sivitz/Jas Farneti ITA on 2 points. Charlotte Yven/Marie Riou FRA on rank 6 are now the best women's team. In the 49ers, Diego Botin/Iago Lopez ESP extended their lead on Schmidt/Böhme GER on 10 points. Kevin Fischer/Yann Jauvin FRA advanced on the 3rd place. A class of his own remains Dorian Van Rijsselberge NED in the RS:X windsurfers leading with a 28 points' advantage. Paul Rozier FRA and Aicheng Wang CHN are the first persuers. Finishes in the 20ies again and the discard made the Canadians clearly drop out of the top-10. Zach Plavsic CAN is down from 5th to 14th and Gabriel Verrier-Paquette CAN from 9th to 21st. Lilian De Geus NED is the new leader in the RS:X women 2 points ahead of Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL. Yesterday, the Foiler Moths join the racing activities. After 3 races, Ben Koppelaar NED leads with a 2 points'advantage on Sven Coster NED. Sven Kloppenburg GER follows on the 3rd position.

 Laser - Delta Lloyd Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 3, Canadians 28th/29th in Standards Moderate winds prevailed on the third day of the Delta Lloyd Regatta on the Ijssel-Meer.
After a premature start, the so far leading Jeemin Ha KOR was replaced on top of the Lasers Standard by Rutger Van Schaardenburg NED who finished twice as 2nd. Man of the day was Juan Maegli GUA with two bullets jumping on rank 3 overall behind the Korean. Hugh McRea CAN is no the best Canadian on rank 28 overtaking Fillah Karim CAN on 29th.
More of the same in the Lasers Radial where Marit Bouwmeester NED was again the day's best with the ranks 1 and 2, extending her lead on Emma Plaeschart BEL on 9 points. Manami Doi JPN moved up on the 3rd place.,

 2.4m, Skud-18, Sonar - Paralympic World Championship 2016 - Medemblik NED - Day 3 The changes weather conditions with moderate winds at the Paralympic World Championship on the Ijssel-Meer closed the ranks on top of all three classes.
Heiko Kröger GER took the lead in the 2.4m keelboats ahead of Matt Bugg AUS at equal points, and only one point behind follows the former leader Damien Séguin FRA. Dee Smith USA is now already on rank 6 (17 ranks up) while Peter Eagar CAN remains on the 22nd place. In the Skud-18, Monika Gibes/Piotr Cichocki POL extended their lead on 9 points. As best of the day (1/2), Daniel Fitzgibbon/Liesl Tesch AUS advanced on rank 2. Alexandra Rickham/Nikki Birrell GBR and John McRoberts/Jackie Gay CAN follow at equal points with the Australians on the ranks 3 and 4. Sarah Skeels/Cindy Walker USA are 10th. In the Sonars, John Robertson GBR and his team are now 2 points ahead of the tied Alphonsus Doerr USA and Lasse Klötzing GER with their teams. Another 2 points behind are Aleksander Wang-Hansen NOR and Colin Harrison AUS with chances for a Medal as well. Paul Tingley CAN and his team are 6th. Three races are left.

 Olympic Classes - Delta Lloyd Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 2, Plavsic CAN 5th RS:X A very light breeze prevailed over the Ijssel-Meer yesterday after the windy opening day, but nevertheless, all classes except the windsurfers, completed the full program in a 4-8 kn wind.
Flawless the results of Simon Sivitz/Jas Farneti ITA winning again both heats. The best women's team are now Domenique Freund/Annabelle Projat GER on rank 6. Diego Botin/Iago Lopez ESP extended their lead in the 49ers on 10 points. Schmidt/Böhme GER follow on rank 2. The windsurfers sailed only 2 of the 3 scheduled races. Dorian Van Rijsselberge added another bullet to his result sheet and is already 16 points ahead of Paul Rozier FRA on 2nd. The Canadians could not repeat the good results of day one finishing the two heats in the 20ies. Nevertheless, the kept the top ten overall ranks on 5th (Zach Plavsic) and 9 (Gabriel Verrier-Paquette). In the RS:X women, Maia Dziarnowska POL remains on top. New on rank 2 is Hélène Noesmoen FRA.

 Laser - Delta Lloyd Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 2, Karim CAN 23rd Light and unstable winds prevailed on the second day of the Delta Lloyd Regatta on the Ijsselmeer, and in the Radials as well as in the Standards, the light-wind specialists had their days.
Svenja Weger GER and Manami Doi JPN won one race each and moved up on the ranks 2 and 3. The leader Marit Bouwmeester NED added the day ranks 3 and 4 to the two bullets of the opening day on the result sheet defending her overall lead. Contrary was the consequence in the Lasers Standard where the leading Duko Bos NED finished with the day ranks 30 and 19 dropping on rank 8 overall. Jeemin Ha KOR is the new leader thanks to a race win. Rutger Van Schaardenburg NED won the second race of the day and advanced on the 2nd place just one point behind the leader. Sam Vandormael BEL is new on the 3rd position. Fillah Karim CAN is 23rd.

 2.4m, Skud-18, Sonar - Paralympic World Championship 2016 - Medemblik NED - Day 2 The light wind on day two provoked changes in the overall rankings of the Paralympics World Championship 2016, and only Damien Séguin FRA succeeded to defend his first place in the 2.4m keelboat inspite of the ranks 5 and 4 yesterday after the two bullets on the opening day. Matt Bugg AUS stayed on rank 2 but he lost some points on Séguin. The day winner Heiko Kröger GER moved up on rank 3. Dee Smith USA, who did not compete in the first two races, is now 23rd (day ranks 4 and 19). Peter Eagar CAN is 26th. In the Skud-18, the surprise team Monika Gibes/Piotr Chichocki POL are the new leaders with the day ranks 2 and 1. Alexandra Rickham/Nikki Birrell GBR on the 2nd place are 4 points behind. John McRoberts/Jackie Gay CAN are 3rd, Sarah Skeels/Cindy Walker USA 8th. In the Sonars, the new leader is Alphonsus Doerr USA with his team, ranks 1 and 3 yesterday replacing John Robertson GBR and his team, ranks 7/7, on top. Finishing twice on 2nd, Lasse Klötzing GER and his team moved up on the 3rd position. Paul Tingley CAN and his team are 10th.

 Olympic Classes - Delta Lloyd Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 1, ranks 3 and 6 of CAN RS:X drivers A fresh breeze and cool temperatures prevailed on the first day of the Delta Lloyd Regatta in Medemblik. All classes sailed the planned 2-3 races.
First in the small 12 teams' 470 fleet - men and women jointly - are Simin Sivitz/Jas Farneti ITA with two bullets ahead of Giacomo Ferrari/Giulio Calabro ITA. Charlotte Yven/Marine Riou FRA on rank 5 are the best women's team. In the 49ers, Botin/Lopez ESP, day ranks 2/2/1 have clearly taken the lead. All 3 races in the RS:X were won by the Olympic Champion Dorian Van Rijsselberge NED. Good performance by the Canadians with Zach Plavsic on rank 3 and Gabriel Verrier-Paquette on the 6th place. In the RS:X women windsurfers, Mia Dziarnowska POL is on the first position with the ranks 2/2/1. Not participating are the 49ersFX, the Nacras 17 and the Finns.

 Laser - Delta Lloyd Regatta - Medemblik NED - Day 1, Karim CAN 24th Some participants just arriving from the summery Class World Championships in Mexico were welcomed by a 10°C and 20 kn wind scene at the Delta Lloyd Regatta on the Ijssel-Meer, above all Rutger Van Schaardenburg NED, Bronze winner in Mexico, who is on rank 3 overall with the day ranks 2 and 5, including a capsize, probably to test the water temperature. Duko Bos NED leads (2/3) ahead of Jeemin Ha KOR (5/1). Fillah Karim CAN is 24th. No chance for her opponents in the Women Lasers Radial where Marit Bouwmeester NED is the clear leader with two bullets. Maxime Jonker NED and Emma Plaeschart BEL follow on the ranks 2 and 3.

 2.4m, Skud-18, Sonar - Paralympic World Champiomnship 2016 - Medemblik NED - Day 1, with USA and CAN boats in all classes Challenging conditions with a 20 kn breeze and the short and steep Ijssel-Meer chop prevailed on the first day of the Paralympic Classes World Championship. This was above all for the 2.4m a wet affair. Damien Séguin FRA mastered the conditions the best winning both heats of the day. Heiko Kröger GER (2/2) and Matt Bugg AUS (3/3) are the first chasers. Peter Eagar CAN is 27th, Dee Smith USA, one of the favorites, did not compete. Shared lead in the Skud 18 with Alexandra Rickham/Nikki Birrell GBR and the surprising Monika Gibes/Piotr Cichocki POL. Daniel Fitzgibbon/Liesl Tesch AUS follow on rank 3. John McRoberts/Jackie Gay CAN are 5th, Sarah Skeels/Cindy Walker USA 7th. John Robertson/ Hannah Stodel/Stephen Merget GBR won both heats in the Sonars ahead of the co-favorites Colin Harrison AUS and Bruno Jourdren FRA with their teams on the ranks 2 and 3. Alphonsus Doerr USA and Paul Tingley CAN with their teams are on the ranks 5 and 7.

Olympic & Paralympic Classes - Delta Lloyd Regatta - Medemblik NED, with USA and CAN participants

 Olympic & Paralympic Classes - Delta Lloyd Regatta - Medemblik NED, with USA and CAN participants The Delta-Lloyd-Regatta of the Olympic and Paralympic Classes, the second Act of the EUROSAF-Champions-Sailing Cup, will begin today on the Ijssel-Meer. While European nations are mainly represented by development teams, there are numerous overseas top sailors benefitting from this event to remain in shape for the Weymouth Worldcup Regatta.
The three Paralympic Classes 2.4m, Skud-18 and Sonar compete for their World Champions' titles.
All entry lists and the official preview. The weather forecast has announced a windy opening day with a 20 k North wind and cool temperatures around 10°.
