Olympic Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Final results

 Olympic Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Final results The Kiel Week 2017 was concluded yesterday with the Medal Races sailed in quite a fresh breeze.
The dominating Olympic medalists Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS finished the Medal Race in the 470 men as first and left the 2nd-ranked Pawel Sozykin/Denis Gribanov RUS 20 points behind in the overall results. With a second rank in the 470 women Medal Race, Frederike Loewe/Anna Markfort GER replaced Agnieszka Skrzypulec/Irmina Mrozek POL on rank 1.
David Gilmour/Joel Turner AUS were the premature winner in the 49ers before the last race. Silver and Bronze went to Przybytek/Kolodzinski POL and Will Philipps/Sam Philipps AUS. In the 49erFX, the leading Charlotte Dobson/Saskia Tidey GBR won the Medal Race as well and were the undisputed overall winners of the Week. Alexandra Moloney/Molly Meech NZL remained on the 2nd place.
In the Finns, Anders Petersen NOR, winning the Medal Race, almost was the surprise of the day, as he was only 2 points short of replacing Deniss Karpak EST on top of the overall rankings. Winning the Medal Race, Thomas Zajac/Barbara Matz AUT made everything clear in the Nacra 17. Jan-Hauke Erichsen/Annn-Kristin Wedemeier GER remained on the 2nd rank with a 10 points' backlog.

Laser - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Final results - Gold for Italy in both fleets, good Medal Race of Reineke and Hughes USA

 Laser - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Final results - Gold for Italy in both fleets, good Medal Race of Reineke and Hughes USA Silvia Zennaro ITA was the premature winner in the Lasers Radial before the Medal Race, sailed in a fresh breeze. In the fight for Silver and Bronze, the Medal Race winner Ecem Güzel TUR moved up on the 2nd place ahead of Nazli Donertas TUR on 3rd. Erika Reineke USA and Haddon Hughes USA finished 2nd and 3rd yesterday and advanced on the 6th and 9th final overall rank.
A 4th place in the Laser Standard Medal Race was good enough for Francesco Marrai ITA to replace the leading Karl-Martin Rammö EST on rank 1. Jack Wetherell GBR, winner of the Medal Race, advanced on the 3rd place.

Laser - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 4, Reineke and Hughes USA qualified for Radials Medal Race

 Laser - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 4, Reineke and Hughes USA qualified for Radials Medal Race Three Final Races concluded yesterday the qualifications for the Medal Race in rain and fresh winds.
With a 15 points advantage, Silvia Zennaro ITA is on a safe way to victory in the Lasers Radial. Nazli Donertas TUR is on rank 2 with a 5 points' lead on the 3rd-ranked Vasileia Karachaliou GRE. Erika Reineke USA and Brenda Bowskill CAN best of their nations had a bad day and dropped on the ranks 8 and 18. Haddon Hughes USA on 9th is now only one rank behind Reineke. Sarah Douglas CAN on the 17th place is the best of her team. Both USA girls are qualified for the Medal Race of today. 69 participants ranked.
The situation in the Lasers Standard is more open. Karl Martin Rammö EST leads 4 points ahead of Philipp Buhl GER. Herrmann Thomasgaard NOR and Francesco Marrai ITA follow only 7 points behind rank 1. Robert Davis CAN is 26th, Yanik Gentry MEX dropped on rank 36.

 Olympic Classes - Keel Week - Kiel GER - Day 2, USA teams midfleet in skiffs Thunderstorms and calms impaired racing on the second day of the Olympic Classes Kiel Week yesterday. Some classes returned even without a valid result. Only the skiff classes sailing closer to the shore completed almost the normal program.
Porebski/Rippey NZL defended their lead in the 49ers, but Gilmour/Turner AUS joined the leaders points-wise. New on rank 3 are Heil/Plössel GER, while Scheidt/Borges BRA descended on the 6th place with medium day results. Andrew and Matthew Mollerus USA advanced on rank 22, Judge Ryan/Hans Henken USA on rank 25 among 68 starters.In the 49ersFX, Victoria Jurczok/Anika Lorenz GER are now 3 points ahead of Tina Lutz/Susan Beuke GER. Stephanie Roble/Maggie Shea USA on rank 17 are now the best USA team among 48 starters, as Kate Shaner/Caroline Atwood USA could not repeat the good results of day one and dropped on the 22nd place overall.
The 470s had no valid race. Bargehr/Mähr AUT and Belcher/Ryan AUS share the first place in the 470 men, and in the 470 women, Loew/Markfort GER are on top in front of Smith/Ryan AUS.
Max Salminen SWE won the only race in the Finns. Overall, Deniss Karpak EST and Nenad Bugarin CRO remain on rank 1 at equal points. In the Nacra 17, the duel between Thomas Zajac/Barbara Matz AUT and Jan-Hauke Erichsen/Ann-Kristin Wedemeyer GER, separated by 2 points only, went on.

 Laser - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 2, no races for the Radials, Reineke USA 3rd The thundery weather disturbed the program of the two Laser classes.
In the Lasers Standard, two of the three groups completed at least one race, the Radials could not sail at all. The ranking list of the Lasers Standard is therefore not very meaningful. Karl-Martin Rammö EST and Francesco Marrai ITA are jointly on top. Yanik Gentry MEX is 26th, Robert Davis CAN 27th.
In the Radials, Vasileia Karachaliou GRE is on top having won the two races of the opening day. Svenja Weger GER and Erika Reineke USA follow at equal points on rank 2. Brenda Bowskill CAN and Coralie Vittecoq CAN are on the ranks 40 and 41 among the 69 participants.

 Olympic Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 1 with USA and CAN participants The winds remained moderate on the first day of the Olympic Classes Kiel Week. All Olympic events except the RS:X Windsurfers are held.
In the 49ers, Josh Porebski/Trent Rippey NZL took the interim's lead with two race wins. Robert Scheidt/Gabriel Borges BRA follow on rank 2. The German Olympic medalists Heil/Plössel GER are on the 3rd place. Judge Ryan/Hans Henken USA are 39th among 68 starters.
Hans HENKENIn the 49ersFX, Victoria Jurczok/Anika Lorenz GER are on rank 1 ahead of the favorites Annemiek Bekkering/Marieke Jongens NED. Kate Shaner/Caroline Atwood USA are 9th, Stephanie Roble/Maggie Shea USA 17th among 48 starters.
In the 470 men, Bargehr/Mähr AUT and the Olympic Silver medalists Belcher/Ryan AUS share the first place. Frederike Loewe/Anna Markfort GER are on top of the 470 women with the day ranks 1 and 3. The Olympians Carrie Smith/Jaime Ryan AUS follow 6 points behind.
Last year's winner Deniss Karpak EST has already taken the lead in the Finns with Nenad Bugarin CRO 2nd at equal points with the first. The Nacra-17-catamarans in the process of changing to a foiling version have mostly development teams at the start. Thomas Zajac/Barbara Matz AUT are on top with two race wins.

 Laser - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 1, Erika Reineke USA 3rd Light winds prevailed on the first day of the Olympic Classes Kiel Week and both Laser fleets completed two races each.
Vasileia Karachaliou GRE won both races in the Lasers Radial and is first interim's ahead of Svenja Weger GER and Erika Reineke USA 4 points behind on the ranks 2 and 3. Brenda Bowskill CAN and Coralie Vittecoq CAN followed on the ranks 40 and 41 among the 69 participants.
Italian Laser sailors are on top of the 129 boats' Laser Standard fleet with Marco Benini ITA and Francesco Marrai ITA. At equal points on rank 3 follow Enrique Arathoon ESA (El Salvador), Sergei Komissarov RUS and Valeriy Kudryashov UKR. Yanik Gentry MEX is 17th, Robert Davis CAN 25th
