Laser 4.7 - Youth World Championship 2017 - Nieuwpoort BEL - Day 4, fresh winds - position changes

 Laser 4.7 - Youth World Championship 2017 - Nieuwpoort BEL - Day 4, fresh winds - position changes After the Qualification Series, sailed in a moderate breeze, the stage changed to fresh winds around 20 kn in yesterday's first two races of the Final Series, to the delight of the big-breeze specialists.
In the Girls' Goldfleet, Federica Catarozzi ITA won both heats and moved up on top of the rankings 4 points ahead of Giorgia Cingolani ITA. Julia Büsselberg GER dropped on rank 3.
Yilkan Timursah TUR defended his lead in the Boys' Goldfleet 3 points ahead of Cesare Barabino ITA still on the 2nd place. The best of the day Sofian Karim FRA (1/4) on 3rd reduced the gap on the leader to 7 points.

Laser 4.7 - Youth World Championship 2017 - Nieuwpoort BEL - Day 3, qualification phase concluded

 Laser 4.7 - Youth World Championship 2017 - Nieuwpoort BEL - Day 3, qualification phase concluded Light and shifty winds made racing difficult yesterday during the last races of the qualification phase. The boys' fleet sailed two, the Girls only one race.
Julia Büsselberg GER and Giorgi Cingolani ITA are jointly on top of the Girls. Federica Cattarozzi ITA is new on the 3rd place.
In the Boys fleet, Yilkan Timursah TUR is now the sole leader. Cesare Barabino ITA on rank 2 is the best U16 participant. Finn O'Dea IRL is new on rank 3. Man of the day was Félix Baudet SUI, winning both heats of his Group and advancing on rank 5 overall.

 Laser 4.7 - Youth World Championship 2017 - Nieuwpoort BEL - Day 3, new Girls' leader, no change in Boys After the race cancellation of Thursday because of the stormy wind, the Laser 4.7 Worlds went on yesterday in a moderate but unconstant breeze, as well as again a strong tide current.
Julia Büsselberg GER has taken the lead in the Girls' fleet at equal points with Giorgia Cingolani ITA on rank 2 and leader of the U16 rankings. The previous leader Anna Moncada ESP dropped on rank 3.
No change in the Boys' ranking on top as the joint three leaders were again the race winners in their groups. Cesare Barabino ITA breaks the tie in his favor with the better discard result and is also first in the U16 rankings. Sofiane Karim FRA and Yilkan Timursah TUR at equal points with the leader follow on the ranks 2 and 3. Two races are on the program to conclude the Qualification Series.

 Laser 4.7 - Youth World Championship 2017 - Nieuwpoort BEL - Day 2 with USA, MEX and CAN participants, racing cancelled, too much wind A passing rain front with winds above 30 kn inhibited racing yesterday at the Laser 4.7 World Championship in Belgium, and the rankings after the two races of the opening day remains unchanged.
In the Girls, Anna Monceda ESP leads ahead of Julia Büsselberg GER and Eline Verstraelen BEL. Abbie Carlson USA is 46th among the 105 participants.
Yilkan Timursah TUR, Sofiane Karim FRA and Cesare Barabino ITA are first in the Boys at equal points. Juan Pablo Rivas MEX is 188th, Bryan Jiao USA 195th and Tayte Stefaniuk CAN 216th among the 231 participants

 Laser 4.7 - Youth World Championship 2017 - Nieuwpoort BEL - Day 1, kickoff with two races per fleet, with USA, MEX and CAN participants Good conditions prevailed on the first day of the Laser 4.7 World Championship in Niewpoort, and both fleets completed two races each.
In the Girls, Anna Moncada ESP has taken the lead one point ahead of Julia Büsselberg EGR. Eline Verstraelen BEL follows as 3rd. Abbie Carlson USA is 46th among the 105 participants.
In the Boys, Yilkan Timursah TUR, Sofiane Karim FRA and Cesare Barabino ITA were the winners of their groups in both races, taking the overall lead jointly. Juan Pablo Rivas MEX is 188th, Bryan Jiao USA 195th and Tayte Stefaniuk CAN 216th among the 231 participants.
