GC32-Catamaran - Racing Tour 2017 - Calvi FRA - Day 1, Carroll USA 4th

GC32-Catamaran - Racing Tour 2017 - Calvi FRA - Day 1, Carroll USA 4th Fresh winds partly over 25 kn prevailed yesterday during the first races of the GC32 Racing Tour and spectacle was guaranteed as the big waves entered the normally protected Bay of Calvi to an extent that the swell was big enough to cause the GC32s to disappear occasionally into the troughs. Before racing started Erik Maris’ Zoulou buried her bow into the back of a big wave and capsized. Unfortunately in the incident, two of her crew sustained injuries and were taken to hospital.
Finishing 1 and 2, 'Realteam' with Jerome Clerc SUI has taken the interim's lead. On rank 2 follow 'Malizia' with Sébastien Col FRA replacing the owner Pierre Cashiragi MON at the helm. 'Argo' of Jason Carroll USA with Anthony Koutoun USA steering is on 4th.
