The morning Northwind was only light on the final day of the Régate de Noël in Nice FRA allowing to sail just one shortened race. Xavier Rohart FRA/Serge Pulfer SUI were again on top and finished the competition undefeted. Roberto Benamati/Eliano Celestini ITA followed on a clear 2nd place. Jean Gabriel Charton/Olivier Terrol FRA advanced on rank 3. 36 teams from 8 nations.

The weather at the Côte d'Azur was back to normal yesterday after the windy opening day. The morning breeze was as usual around 12k and slackened during the morning. Two races were completed, both won again by Xavier Rohart FRA/Serge Pulfer SUI, heading for an overall victory in today's final races. Roberto Benamati/Eliano Celestini ITA moved up on rank 2. Kurt and Markus Scheidegger SUI defended rank 3 overall.

The first day of the 61th Christmas Race in Nizza was rather unusual, as the morning Northwind was accelerated by an increasing gradient wind in the same direction. The 10-12kn at the early start (8.45h) were rapidly up to over 20kn.
The World Ranking nbr 1 Xavier Rohart FRA with Serge Pulfer SUI as crew won all 3 heats clearly leading overall. On rank 2 follow Kurt and Markus Scheidegger SUI with a solid row of top-10 results. 32 teams from 8 nations participate.

Today begins the traditional Starboat Christmas Race in Nizza FRA. With 38 teams from 8 nations, among them the World Ranking nbrs 1 (Xavier Rohart FRA) and 3 (Diego Negri ITA) as well as the past World Champion Roberto Benamati ITA, the fleet has quite a high level. On the entry list is also the two-times Tornado Olympic Champion Nicolas Henard FRA - now President of the French Sailing Federation (TTV) - as crew of the Régis Bérenguier FRA (Secétaire of the COYC Hyères). Switzerland is represented by 12 teams.
