 Laser Standard & Radial - European Championship 2019 - Porto POR - Final results, Railey and Reineke top-10 Radial women, Barnard 19th Standards Yesterday, the Olympic Champion Tom Burton AUS had his worst day (ranks 11/18) and tumbled from the top to 4th in the final Open Trophy rankings. But the victory went to Australia anyway with Matthew Wearn AUS passing Lorenzo Chiavarini GBR remaining on 2nd. Sam Meech NZL followed on the 3rd place. Christopher Barnard USA finished 19th, Robert Davis CAN 40th. ----- Chiavarini GBR takes the European Championship title with Nick Thompson GBR and Philipp Buhl GER completing the podium. The ranking list Open Trophy Standards. ----- In the Lasers Radial, Anne-Marie Rindom DEN demonstrated once more her superiority winning the second-last race and grasping the title prematurely. Marit Bouwmeester NED reclaimed rank 2 ahead of Emma Plaesschart BEL finishing on 3rd. Good results were achieved by the North American women with Paige Railey USA on 8th, Erika Reineke USA 9th and Sarah Douglas CAN on 15th. The ranking list Radial women. ----- No position changes in the Radial men with Aleksander Arian POL winning the title ahead of Marcin Rudawski POL and Ben Elvin GBR.  Laser Standard & Radial - European Championship - Porto POR - Day 5, Reineke 7th and Railey 9th in the Radial women, Barnard 19th in the Standards Before the last races of today, the Olympic Champion Tom Burton AUS has a 9 point lead on Lorenzo Chiavarini GBR. Matthew Wearn AUS on 3rd and Philipp Buhl GER as best of the day (1/4) new on rank 4 will fight for Silver and Bronze in the Standard Open Trophy rankings today. Chiavarini GBR and Buhl GER will duel for the European title. The best North Americans are Christopher Barnard USA on 19th and Robert Davies CAN on 34th. The Standard ranking list. ----- Anne-Marie Rindom DEN keeps on dominating the Radial women with a 19 point advantage on Emma Plaesschart BEL, best of the day (1/2), replacing Marit Bouwmeester NED on rank 2. Excellent results by the North Americans with Erika Reineke USA on 7th, Paige Railey USA on 9th and Sarah Douglas CAN on 14th.  Laser Standard & Radial - European Championship 2019 - Porto POR - Day 4, Erika Reineke USA 9th, Chris Barnard USA 21st Tom Burton AUS extended his lead in the Lasers Standard on Lorenzo Chiavarini GBR to 12 pointa. Matthew Wearn AUS remained on 3rd. Pavlos Kontides CYP, best of the day, moved up on the 4th place. Christopher Barnard USA had his worst day and dropped on rank 21. Robert Davies CAN is 39th. The ranking list Standards. ----- A class of her own is Anne-Marie Rindom DEN in the Radial women. Finishing 1 and 3 yesterday, she increased her lead on 33 points ! Her worst result is a 3rd place. On the ranks 2 and 3 follow Marit Bouwmeester NED and Emma Plaesschart BEL. Erika Reineke USA is 9th, Sarah Douglas CAN 11th and Paige Railey USA 12th.  Laser Standard & Radial - European Championship - Porto POR - Day 3 - best NorAms Chris Barnard USA 5th and Sarah Douglas CAN 6th After the two light-wind races concluding the qualification phase at the Laser Europeans in Porto POR, the Olympic Champion Tom Burton AUS moved on top of the Standards with the day ranks 1 and 2 in his group. Lorenzo Chiavarini GBR follows 3 points behind on 2nd. Eliott Hansen GBR is new on 3rd. The World Champion Pavlos Kontides CYP follows on rank 19. Inspite of a blackflag penalty in race 5, Christopher Barnard USA keeps rank 5 just one point behind the podium. Robert Davis CAN is 52nd. Both are qualified for the Goldfleet. The 20 other North American sailors will continue the Championship in the Silver- and Bronzefleets. ----- Anne-Marie Rindom DEN extended her lead in the Lasers Radial women on 12 points. Tuula Tenkanen FIN - best of the day with the ranks 1 and 2 in her group - follows now on 2nd. The Olympic Champion Marit Bouwmeester NED advanced on rank 3. Sarah Douglas CAN is now on 6th, Erika Reineke USA 14th and Paige Railey USA 18th, all qualified for the Goldfleet. The remaining three CAN sailors will continue in the Silverfleet. ----- Im the Lasers Radial men, Aleksander Arian POL is now first 3 points ahead of Marcin Rudawski POL.  Laser Standard & Radial - European Championship 2019 - Porto POR - Day 2 - Sarah Douglas CAN 2nd, Chris Barnard USA 7th After the races 3 and 4 of yesterday, Luke Elliot AUS has taken the overall lead in the Lasers Standard ahead of Kaarle Tapper FIN one point behind. Tonci Stipanovic CRO moved up on 3rd after discard. Chris Barnard USA follows on rank 7 only 4 points behind the leader. Robert Davies CAN is 53rd. ----- In the Lasers Radial women, Anne-Marie Rindom DEN is now on top with two bullets followed by Sarah Douglas CAN 7 points behind on rank 2. Emma Plaeschart BEL is new on 3rd. Erika Reineke USA follows on the 13th place, Paige Railey USA is 20th. ----- Aleksander Arian POL defended his lead in the Radial men 6 points in front of Andrea Crisi ITA. Ben Elvin GBR advanced on rank 3.  Laser Standard & Radial - European Championship 2019 - Porto POR - Day 1, best NorAms are Chris Barnard USA 8th and Sarah Douglas CAN 14th 335 Lasers, among them 22 North Americans, completed the first two races at the Laser Standard and Radial European Championship in Porto POR yesterday. ----- In the Lasers Standard (4 fleets), Philipp Buhl GER, Joaquin Blanco ESP, Nils Broehhuizen NED and Fynn Lynch IRL are on top with 5 points each. Chris Barnard USA is excellent 8th, Robert Davis CAN 33rd. ----- The best ranked favorites so far are Matthew Wearn AUS on 10th and the Olympic Champion Tom Burton AUS on 15th. Rather disappointing were however Sam Meech NZL as 31st, Nick Thompson GBR as 35th, Tonci Stipanovic CRO as 39th and the World Champion Pavlos Kontides CYP as 43rd. ----- Nur Shazrin Mohamad MAS was the only woman winning both races of her group in the Lasers Radial (2 fleets). She leads 3 points ahead of Anne-Marie Rindom DEN. Martina Reino ESP follows on 3rd. The Olympic Champion Marit Bouwmeester NED is 10th. Sarah Douglas CAN is 14th, Erika Reineke USA 16th. ----- The Laser Radial Men leader is Martim Fernandes POR one point in front of Aleksander Arian POL.
