 Olympic Worldcup - Finals - Marseille FRA - Final results after Medal Races, best US result McNay/Hughes 8th in 470 men No change on top of the 470 men with Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS clearly winning ahead of Jordi Xammar/Nicolas Rodriguez ESP and Hippolyte Machetti/Sidoine Dantes FRA. Stuart McNay/David Hughes USA won the Medal Race but remained on the 8th place overall. ----- Camille Lecointre/Aloise Retornaz FRA succeeded to control the one-point-leading Hannah Mills/Eilidh McIntyre GBR right from the start and covered the GBR women in a matchracing style till the end. Mas-Depares/Cantero ESP earned Bronze. ----- A very light breeze filled in only very late in the afternoon in Marseille FRA yesterday, just before the latest possible start time for the two 470 Medal Races. -----The two Laser and the Finn Medal Races scheduled earlier had to be cancelled due to lack of wind. Andy Maloney NZL finished first in the Finns. ----- In the Lasers, the winners were Giovanni Cocolutto ITA in the Standards and Viktorija Andrulyte LTU in the Radials. ----- All ranking lists and the final report.

 Olympic Worldcup - Finals - Marseille FRA - Day 6 - McNay/Hughes USA on 8th qualified for the Medal Race today After a week with mostly fresh winds, the first five Medal Races were sailed in a light to moderate breeze of 8-10kn yesterday. Today, the remaining five classes will held their crucial final race. We shall report livestream on www.sailing-news.com as from 11h UTC. ----- The RS:X men Medal Race was exciting: Mattia Camboni ITA grasped the overall victory ahead of Daniele Benedetti ITA. Louis Giard FRA advanced on rank 3. ----- In the RS:X women, Liliane De Geus NED had everything under control winning with a big advance, but the fight for Silver and Bronze was tight and decided in favour of Saskia Sills GBR over Flavia Tartaglini ITA on the final downwind leg only. ----- Behind the premature winners in the 49ers, Federico and Arturo Alonso ESP, the positions on the podium remained unchanged. Benjamin Bildstein/David Hussl AUT and Sébastien Schneiter/Lucien Cujean SUI earned Silver and Bronze. ----- In the 49ersFX, Julie Bossard/Aude Compan FRA remained on top winning the Medal Race. Melzacka/Loboda POL took Silver. The duel for Bronze went in favour of Omari/Distefano ITA replacing the tied Schöfegger/Boustani AUT on the podium. ----- No change in the Nacra-17 catamarans with Vittorio Bisarro/Maelle Frascari ITA on first in front of John Gimson/Anna Burnet GBR. Ruggero Tita (just selected for the 'Luna Rossa-Prada-Pirelli' America's Cup team) with Caterina Banti ITA earned Bronze. ----- Winning the Medal Race as well, Nicolas Parlier FRA was the dominating first in Open Kiteboarding ahead of Théo De Ramecourt FRA and Axel Mazella FRA. -------- The remaining five classes will sail their Medal Races today with two premature winners: the Olympic Champions Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS are first in the 470 men with a 20 point lead. Stu McNay/Dave Hughes USA qualified for the Medal Race as 8th. ----- Early overall winner is also Viktoria Andrulyte LTU in the Lasers Radial with an 18 point lead. -----The fight for the Medals will be exciting in the Lasers Standard with the first 5 separated by 7 points only. Only 6 points is the difference of the ranks 2 to 5 in the Lasers Radial. ----- In the 470 women, the duel for Gold is between Hannah Mills/Eilidh McIntyre GBR and Camille Lecointre/Aloise Retornaz FRA one point behind. Winning the final fleetrace, Atlantic and Nora Brugman USA, rank 18, overtook Nikola Barnes/Lara Dallman-Weis USA, rank 19. ----- In the Finns, Andy Maloney NZL is on top 8 points ahead of Josh Junior NZL, and another 8 points back follows Max Salminen SWE on 3rd. ----- All ranking lists and the daily news.

Today, the Medal Races of the RS:X windsurfers, 49ers, 49ersFX and Nacra 17 will take place. To be followed on www.sailing-news.com as from 6h ECT. The other classes sail their final fleetraces.
Finishing 1 and 2 yesterday, Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS extended their lead on Xammar/Rodriguez ESP in the 470 men to 15 points. Today, Stu McNay/Dave Hughes USA on rank 9 will have to defend the Medal Race qualification 11 points from rank 11. ----- Hannah Mills/Eilidh McIntyre GBR remain on top of the 470 women, but the best of the day Camille Lecointre/Aloise Retornaz FRA reduced the deficit on 4 points. Nikole Barnes/Lara Dallman-Weis USA and Atlantic and Nora Brugman USA remained on the ranks 19, respectively 21. ----- The Kiteboarders enjoyed the fresh winds and held another four races. Nicolas Parlier FRA is now 9 points ahead of Axel Mazella FRA. Half of the fleet refrained from starting in these conditions, among them the USA participants Daniela Moroz USA, best women in the Open fleet, rank 12, Kirstyn O'Brien USA 13th and Brad Funk USA 19th. ----- 16 points is the advantage of Vittorio Bisarro/Maelle Frascari ITA on John Gimson/Anna Burnet GBR in the Nacra 17. Enrique Figueroa/Gretchen Ortiz PUR remained 19th. ----- After another convincing day, Federico Alonso/Arturo Alonso ESP are the premature winners in the 49ers with a 27 point advantage before the Medal Race.  Olympic Worldcup - Finals - Marseille FRA - Day 3, full program sailed, McNay/Hughes USA (470 men) out of top-10 With 3 races sailed yesterday, the 470 are now on schedule with their qualification races. Finishing 1/2/1, the Olympic Champions Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS climbed on top of the 470 men ahead of Xammar/Rodriguez ESP and Peponnet/Mion FRA. The bad start to the day (ranks 26/12/4) relegated Stu McNay/Dave Hughes USA on rank 12 overall, 8 points from the Medal Race cut. ----- In the 470 women, Hannah Mills/Eilidh McIntyre GBR have taken the overall lead ahead of Lecointre/Retornaz FRA new on rank 2 with two bullets yesterday. Zegers/Berkhout NED are now on 3rd. Nikole Barnes/Lara Dallman-Weis USA are 19th, Atlantic and Nora Brugman USA 21st. ----- Vittorio Bisarro/Maelle Frascari ITA stay on top of the Nacra-17. John Gimson/Anna Burnet GBR and Billy Besson/Marie Riou FRA remain the first challengers. McNay/Hughes USA 7th An up to 30kn wind prevailed yesterday in Marseille and only the classes scheduled for morning starts - the 470s, Lasers, Nacras 17 and 49ers - completed at least one race. The RS:X windsurfers, the Finns and the 49ersFX remained ashore. The Kiteboarders however held their full program. ----- In the 470 men, the winners were Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS reducing the backlog on the leading Xammar/Rodriguez ESP to one point. Stu McNay/Dave Hughes USA did not finish the race and stay on 7th overall. ----- In the 470 women, Afrodite Zegers/Lobke Berkhout NED finished first and are the new leaders ahead of Ai Kondo/Miho Yoshioka JPN new on 2nd. Nikole Barnes/Lara Dallman-Weis USA are 21st, Atlantic and Nora Brugman USA 22nd. ----- Winning both races of the day, Bisarro/Maelle Frascari ITA replaced Billy Besson/Marie Riou FRA on rank one in the Nacra 17. Enrique Figueroa/Gretchen Ortiz PUR are 19th. ----- The Kiteboarders, completing the full 4-race program, were again dominated by Nico Parlier FRA extending the overall lead with three race wins. Daniela Moroz USA, best women in the Open fleet, is 12th and Kirstyn O'Brien USA 14th, both not finishing the last race. Brad Funk USA remained ashore and is down on rank 18. ----- Only four 49ers terminated the race as capsizes and equipment failures reduced the fleet. The winners of the day Alonso/Alonso ESP cut the gap on the leading Kevin Fischer/Yann Jauvin FRA to one point. ----- In the Lasers Radial, Viktorija Andrulyte LTU moved up on top with a bullet, followed by Carolina Albano ITA on 2nd. ----- In the Lasers Standard, Adonis Bougiouris GRE was first. Belcher/Ryan AUS and Ferrari/Calabro ITA follow 3 points behind. McNay/Hughes USA are 6th. ----- In the 470 women, Frederike Löwe/Anna Markfort GER are on first with two 3rd race ranks. Mills/McIntyre GBR, Oster/Winkel GER and Cornudella/Lopez ESP follow 4 points back tied on 2nd. Nikole Barnes/Lara Dallman-Weis USA are 22nd, Atlantic and Nora Brugman USA 24th. ----- In the RS:X windsurfers, Mattia Camboni ITA has taken the lead one point ahead of Angel Granda ESP. Pierre Le Coq FRA and Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI follow tied on 3rd and 4th. ----- Megumi Iseda ESP is first in the RS:X women ahead of Flavia Tartaglini ITA and Lilian De Geus NED. ----- Ryan Lo SGP in the Lasers Standard and Carolina lbano ITA in the Radials lead the very small Laser fleets. ----- In the Finns, Andy Maloney NZL is first ahead of Josh Junior NZL and Jake Lilley AUS. ----- First in the Nacra 17 are Billy Besson/Marie Riou FRA with two bullets followed by John Gimson/Anna Burnet GBR and Vittorio Bissaro/Maelle Frascari ITA. Enrique Figueroa/Gretchen Ortiz PUR are 24th. ----- Fischer/Jauvin FRA are on rank 1 in the 49ers in front of Alonso/Alonso ESP and Fantela/Fantela CRO. ----- In the 49ersFX, Laura Schöfegger/Anna Boustani AUT and Julie Bossard/Aude Compan FRA share the lead. ----- Nico Parlier FRA won 3 of the 4 races in the Open Kiteboarders. The three USA riders Daniela Moroz, Kirstin O'Brien and Brad Funk are on the ranks 13, 15 and 16. ----- Sun and a moderate seabreeze around 12kn prevailed yesterday during the first races of the Olympic Classes Worldcup Final in Marseille FRA.  Olympic Worldcup 2019 - Finals - Marseille FRA - Start today, with 470s and kiteboarders from the USA The Olympic Classes Worldcup Final will begin in Marseille today on the Olympic waters of 2024. The top-30 of the World Ranking Lists are qualified, but only 183 of the 300 invited will attend this Grand Final, considered by the organising World Sailing staff as their 'top event'. In addition to the 10 Olympic events, the Kiteboarders, Olympic Class for 2024, will participate. North America is represented by three 470 teams and three kiteboarders from the USA. ----- All entry lists and the official preview. ----- The hot summer weather will provide for a moderate seabreeze during the day.
