Her advance on rank two has grown on 635nm.  Ultime Trimaran - Brest-Atlantiques - Brest FRA - Day 18 - Sodebo retires After a comprehensive control of the Ultime-Trimaran 'Sodebo' ashore in Cape Town, Thomas Coville/Jean-Luc Nélias FRA with the media man Martin Keruzoré FRA decided to abandon the race. After the collision with flotsam, their trimaran is in worse conditions than expected, as not only the floater hull without the torn-off rudder, but also the foil daggerboard has been damaged. Repair within a reasonable time is not possible. The report. ------ The three Ultimes remaining in the race are making good progress off the coast of Namibia in moderate rear winds. 'Edmond de Rothschild' (Cammas/Caudrelier FRA) extended her lead and had a 357nm advantage on 'Macif' (Gabart/Gahinet FRA) this morning UTC. Having resumed the race, she was only 7nm behind rank 2 this morning UTC. The second-ranked 'Macif' (Gabart/Gahinet FRA) 165nm behind will stop a second time for a repair.  Ultime Trimaran - Brest-Atlantiques - Brest FRA - Day 14, Sodebo looses port rudder, repair stop in Capetown After two weeks racing, the four Ultime Trimarans are approaching Cape Town to be reached by Thursday in winds substantially lighter South of the St-Helena anticyclone. 'Edmond de Rotschild' with Franck Cammas/Charles Caudrelier FRA is still leading now with a 100nm advantage on 'Macif' (François Gabart/Gwenolé Gahinet FRA). After the repair stops of these two teams, it is the turn of 'Sodebo' who lost the port rudder after a collision with flotsam. A repair stop has been planned in Cape Town. Today, however some changes in the positions will occur as Frank Cammas FRA on 'Edmond de Rothschild' will head for Salvador de Bahia for the previously announced repair stop. 'Macif' of François Gabart FRA, 79nm behind this morning UTC, will replace the damaged rudder shortly after in Rio. Tomorrow Sunday, the start to the inaugural Atlantic long-distance race for Ultime-Trimarans was scheduled, but the stormy winds provoked the Race Director to postpone.
