Olympic Classes - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Day 3

 Olympic Classes - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Day 3 Excellent performance by Stephanie Roble (East Troy, Wisc.) and Maggie Shea (Wilmette, Ill.) new on rank 2 in the 49ersFX. Charlie Buckingham (Newport Beach, Calif.) on the 6th place in the Lasers Standard remains in the top-10, as does Tom Ramshaw CAN as 5th in the Finns. Here the results of all North Americans. --------------- Hereafter the top positions in all fleets. ----- Warrer/Precht DEN, long-time leaders in the 49ers, are now challenged by Lambriex/van Vugt NED, only one point behind, and Rual/Amoros FRA climbing on rank 3. ----- In the 49ersFX, Tina Lutz/Susann Beucke GER have taken the lead, but Stephanie Roble/Maggie Shea USA, new on rank 2 as best of the day, are only one point back. Charlotte Dobson/Saskia Tidey GBR are now in the 3rd place. ----- With two race wins in the Finn fleet, Nicholas Heiner NED extended his lead on Nils Theuninck SUI on 9 points. Only one point behind follows Facundo Oleazza ARG on rank 3. ----- In the Lasers Standard, Michael Beckett GBR moved on top 4 points ahead of Philipp Buhl GER. Eliott Hansen GBR advanced on rank 3. ----- In the Lasers Radial, Marit Bouwmeester NED went on extending her lead. Anne-Marie Rindom DEN moved up on rank 2, Maria Erdi HUN is now in 3rd. ----- Three bullets for Ruggero Tita/Caterina Banti ITA in the Nacras 17, taking the overall lead 12 points ahead of John Gimson/Anna Burnet GBR. Paul Kohlhof/Alicia Stuhlemmer GER are now in the 3rd place. ----- For the first time, fresher winds prevailed at the Kiel Week, provoking major position changes in some fleets. ----- All ranking lists and the news.

 Olympic Classes - Kiel Week - Kiel GER - Day 2 - with three North American teams still in the top-10s Finishing the day on the overall ranks 5 were Charlie Buckingham USA in the Lasers Standard and Tom Ramshaw CAN in the Finns, and also Stefanie Roble/Maggie Shea USA on rank 6 defended their place in the top-10s at the 2020 Kiel Week. See the results of results of all North Americans. ------------ Hereafter follows an overview of the top ranks in all six classes: ----- Jonas Warrer/Jakob Precht DEN remained on top of the 49ers ahead of the tied Przybytek/Kolodzinski POL and Rual/Amoros FRA. ----- In the 49ersFX, Tamara Echegoyen/Paula Barcelo ESP are still on rank 1. Tina Lutz/Susann Beucke GER advanced in the 2nd place. ----- As best of the day with the ranks 1/1/2, Nils Theuninck SUI joined the leading Nicholas Heiner NED on top. Facundo Oleazza ARG advanced on rank 3. ----- No change on top of the Nacra 17 with Ruggero/Banti ITA in the lead ahead of Kohlhoff/Stuhlemmer GER and Gimson/Burnet GBR. ----- Herrmann Tomasgaard NOR is the new leader in the Laser Standard 2 points ahead of the tied Michael Beckett GBR and Giovanni Cocolutto ITA. ----- Marit Bouwmeester NED defended her lead in the Lasers Radial, but Maria Erdi HUN reduced her backlog on one point. Anne-Marie Rindom DEN is now 3rd. ----- In still moderate winds, the qualification phase was concluded yesterday with four races according to program, and racing in the larger fleets (Lasers, 49er) will resume today split in Gold and Silver. ----- All ranking lists.

 Olympic Classes - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Day 1, three North American teams in the top-10 Stephanie Roble/Maggie Shea USA 5th in the 49ersFX, Tom Ramshaw CAN 7th in the Finns, and Charlie Buckingham USA 9th in the Lasers Standard were the North Americans delivering top-10 results on day one of the 2020 Kiel Week. Here the results of all North Americans. ---------- Hereafter follows the overview of the leading teams in the six Olympic Classes racing on the Baltic Sea. After three races in the skiffs, Warrer/Precht DEN are leading in the 49ers one point ahead of the tied Przybytek/Kolodzsinski POL and Fischer/Graf GER, while in the 49ersFX, Echegoyen/Roble ESP, two race wins, are first 2 points ahead of Schultheiss/Edland MLT. Three races too in the Nacras 17 with the experienced teams already ahead. Tito Ruggero/Caterina Banti ITA occupy rank 1 in front of Paul Kohlhoff/Alicia Stuhlemmer GER and John Gimson/Anna Burnett GBR. ----- The single-handers completed two races. In the Finns, Nicholas Heiner NED won both heats and leads ahead of Nils Theuninck SUI. Another point behind follows Facundo Olezza ARG on rank 3. In the Lasers Radial, the Olympic Champion Marit Bouwmeester NED has already taken control with the ranks 1 and 3, and leads ahead of Anne-Marie Rindom DEN 2 points back. As 3rd follows Maria Erdi HUN. The first leader in the Lasers Standard is Giovanni Coccoluto ITA (1/4), with Philipp Buhl GER and Elliot Hansen GBR as first pursuers. ----- Light, circling winds prevailed on day one of the Olympic Classes Kiel Week yesterday. ----- All ranking lists.

 Olympic Classes - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Start today, with 10 North American teams Six Olympic Classes - the 470s and RS:X windsurfers are missing - start to their competitions at the 2020 Kiel Week today. Due to Corona restrictions, various athletes, especially from important sailing nations such as AUS, NZL, CHN, GBR are missing. ----- 3 USA, 3 CAN, and 4 MEX boats are on the entry lists. Here the list of all North Americans. ----- In the 60-boat 49ers, Bildstein-Hussl AUT, Fantela/Fantela CRO, Warrer/Precht-Jensen DEN, Heil-Plössl GER, Mollerus/MacDiarmid USA have their chances in absence of the strong GBR, NZL, and AUS teams. ----- In the 49erFX, 59 teams are on the entry list with Stephanie Roble/Maggie Shea USA, Dobson/Tidey GBR, Lutz/Beucke GER, or Bekkering/Duetz NED as favorites. ----- In the Finns, only 26 teams are present without many big names. Nicholas Heiner NED, Max Salminen SWE, or Jorge Zarif BRA, not to forget Nils Theuninck SUI have a chance for medals. ----- 59 women are sailing their Lasers Radial, with Anne-Marie Rindom DEN, Alison Young GBR, or Annalise Murphy IRL as favorites. ----- In the Lasers Standard, 101 boats are on the entry list, to mention Jean-Baptiste Bernaz FRA or Charlie Buckingham USA. ----- The favorites among the 28 Nacra 17 teams are Gimson/Burnett GBR, Tita/Banti ITA, Bissaro/Frascari ITAor the Olympic Champions Lange/Carranza ARG. ----- The 99 29ers from 11 nations sail another round of their Europa Cup. ----- All entry lists.

 Various Classes - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Part 1 - Final results - North American participants in forthcoming Olympic Classes races Part one of the Kiel Week 2020 with the International and National Classes racing was concluded yesterday. ----- The winners in the best-attended Classes were: Patryk Kowalski/Tomasz Lewandowski POL 420, Wolfgang Hunger/Holger Jess GER 5o5, the 23rd Kiel Week victory of Wolfgang Hunger, Soren Dulong DEN Contender, Anna Livberg DEN Europe, Michael Grau GER and his team J/70, replacing the tied Claas Lehmann GER on top in the last race, Batbold Gruner GER Laser 4.7, Paul Hameeteman NED Laser Radial. ----- All ranking lists. ----- Today, the Olympic Classes with USA, CAN and MEX participants will start their competitions.
