 Class 40 - Normandy Channel Race - Caen FRA - Victory for Simon Koster/Valentin Gautier SUI ! After a muscly final with up to 35kn headwind, Valentin Gautier/Simon Koster SUI, 'Banque du Leman', finally scored the bullet in the 11th Normandy Channel Race after 4 days 20 hours 25 minutes, and 30 seconds of racing. They made the finish line just 6 minutes ahead of 'Crédit Mutuel' of Ian Lipinski POL/Julien Pulve FRA. During the night, Antoine Carpentier/Nichola Groleau FRA ('Redman') decided the duel for rank 3 in their favor. ----- The ranking list and the news.

 Class 40 - Normandy Channel Race - Caen FRA - Day 5, duel on top with 100 miles left With 100nm left, 'Credit Mutuel' of Ian Lipinski POL/Julien Pulve FRA and 'Banque du Léman' with Simon Koster/Valentin Gautier SUI remain in a close duel for victory. The Swiss were leading temporarily yesterday, but this morning UTC, they were again 2nm behind, however with superior upwind speed. With 100nm left, 'Credit Mutuel' of Ian Lipinski POL/Julien Pulve FRA and 'Banque du Léman' with Simon Koster/Valentin Gautier SUI remain in a close duel for victory. The Swiss were leading temporarily yesterday, but this morning UTC, they were again 2nm behind, however with superior upwind speed. Class 40 - Normandy Channel Race - Caen FRA - Day 4, Lipinski/Pulve (POL/FRA) leading ahead of Gautier/Koster (SUI)

 Class 40 - Normandy Channel Race - Caen FRA - Day 4, Lipinski/Pulve (POL/FRA) leading ahead of Gautier/Koster (SUI) This morning UTC, the fleet was again approaching Point Lizard at the most southwestern point of England. ----- Ian Lipinski POL/Julien Pulve FRA ('Crédit Mutuel') are still leading with now Valentin Gautier/Simon Koster SUI as closest pursuers 3nm behind with 260nm left to the finish. ----- The very light and shifty breeze, together with some misty phases, made the race again very slow on day 4 of this Class 40 event, provoking the Race Director to shorten the course, omitting the Fastnet Rock off southwest Ireland. ----- The race tracker, the news and the videos.

 Class 40 - Normandy Channel Race - Caen FRA - Day 3, Ian Lipinski POL/Julien Pulve FRA leading This morning UTC, Ian Lipinski POL/Julien Pulve FRA stayed in front 2nm ahead of Stan Thuret/Nicolas D'Estais FRA and Thibaut Lefevere/Sebastien Marsset FRA sailing neck-and-neck on the second position. Only one mile behind followed Valentin Gautier/Simon Koster SUI still in a good place to fight for victory. ----- Light winds were and still are persisting with the fleet having passed Point Lizard at the most southwestern point of England yesterday and heading now for Tusker Rock, the most northern waypoint of the race. ----- The race tracker, the news and the videos.

 Class 40 - Normandy Channel Race - Caen FRA - Start today with a USA team In Caen, the start to the first important Class 40 race this year will be given today with 26 two-person teams from 9 nations, among them the USA (Greg and Hannes Leonard) and Japan. The race over 1'000 miles leads from Caen via the southwestern point of England to the Fastnet Rock and back to France. The start will be given at 18h UTC in the Oiustreham Bay, northern Brittany.
