Trophee Jules Verne Trimaran IDEC Day 37
The passage of the innertropical convergence zone was more difficult as expected for Francis Joyon FRA and his team, as ever and ever again, lull patches decelerated the trimaran. Yesterday evening, 'IDEC' finally reached the northern trade winds, allowing the trimaran to head direction finish 3'000 nm away on a straight upwind leg during the coming two days. 'IDEC' will be expected off Ouessant on next Thursday after 41 days underway, improving the absolute round-the-worlds record by 4 on 41 days. This morning UTC, the advantage was 1'281 nm.
