No mercy for the 43 Laser Standard and 70 Laser Radials at the 2010 Canadian Championships at the Club de Voile de Laurentides. Five races on Friday, a loose day with two (Radial only one) on Saturday, but a full program on the final day. If you want legendary Laser designer Ian Bruce to hand you a trophy, you’ve got to earn it. After 10 races Chris Dold (16 pts.) was crowned champion. With nine top-three finishes he built an insurmountable lead so he could sit out the final race. Second was Lee Parkhill (27), who climbed a spot ahead of Evan Lewis (29). In the 70-boat Radials, Nigel Heath defended Saturday’s lead to take the title three points clear of the top lady, Danielle Dube (28) who had a very strong and consistent series. In third Jean-Luc Robitaille (31) who bumped Rob Koci (38) off the podium. Top junior was Dan Barry (43) in fifth. See the complete results.
