The outcome of the Laser Standard Medal Race is fully open. Yesterday, Jean-Baptiste Bernaz FRA took for the first time the overall lead in difficult unconstant lightwind races, and the multiple World Champion Robert Scheidt BRA one point behind has also been sneaking to the top. The third contender for the overall win is still Rutger Van Schaardenburg NED 7 points behind Bernaz. Not qualified for the Medal Race is the World Nbr 1 Tom Burton AUS who distroyed his opportunity with bad results yesterday, dropping on rank 13.
Two old rivals, Marit Boumeester NED and Evi Van Acker BEL, separated by 6 points, will duel for Gold in the Lasers Radial. Sarah Gunni DEN on third is already 28 points behind. Tuula Tenkanen FIN 8 points behind Bronze can still grasp this Medal with a good performance in the very last race. Paige Railey USA on 10th just made the Medal Race with the option to move up one or two ranks with a good finish.

The final results of the best Laser Sailors per NorAm nation are:
Laser Standard: Buckingham USA 16th, Thompson ISV 20th, Davies CAN 29th, Gentry MEX 43th , Gonzales PUR 53th
Laser Radial: Railey USA 10th, Bowskill CAN 15th, Montemayor MEX 41st
