IMOCA Open 60 - Vendée Globe 2016/17 - Day 76

After a tight duel between the winner Armel Le Cléac'h FRA and Alex Thomson GBR during the whole circumnavigation, Thomson finished the race in the Sables d'Olonne yesterday as 2nd with a backlog of only 16 hours. As next, Jérémy Béyou FRA will be expected on Monday morning. The ranks 4 to 6 will be much disputed as Yann Eliès FRA and Jean Le Cam FRA have almost joined Jean-Pierre Dick FRA and this trio will finish the race in a close in-fight. With Pieter Heerema NED and Sébastien Destremau FRA on the ranks 17 and 18, only two participants are still sailing on the Pacific Ocean.
