IMOCA Open 60 Vendee Globe 2016/17 Day 106, Wilson USA now 13th
Alan Roura SUI was only a few miles from the finish of the Vendée Globe this morning and he will be expected in Les Sables d'Olonne by 9h CET as 12th. To conclude the race - as the youngest skipper - after 106 day on a 16-year-old Open 60 (the former Super-Bigou of Bernard Stamm SUI, who never saw the arrival with this boat) is a remarkable performance and the best among the old-generation Open60s. His report.
As next, Rich Wilson USA - the eldest participant - will reach the finish on Wednesday. He passed Conrad Colman NZL/USA sailing slowly upwind under jury rig during the past 24 hours. Read Colman's impressive report with photo in Scuttlebutt. As 18th and last, Sébastien Destremau FRA crossed the Equator yesterday. He will be underway for another two weeks.
