BeachCatamaran Yvan Bourgnon SUI in the NordWestPassage
Another setback for Yvan Bourgnon SUI yesterday on his North-West Passage course yesterday. At the end of the Passage on the most easterly point of the North-American continent leading straight North, Bourgnon had to return back. A thick carpet of drift ice (see photo) is mpeding the passage and foremost, he had to avoid the freezing in of his catamaran. For tomorrow, southerly winds have been announced that hopefully will remove the ice barrier. For the moment, the Swiss has anchored in a Bay waiting for sailable conditions, but obviously with the end of the summer approaching, every day counts now for a successful end of his adventure ride.
