Solo round the world record - François Gabart FRA - Day 9

The extraodinary weather conditions over the South Atlantic allow François Gabart FRA to head straight forward for the Cape of Good Hope. He crossed 772nm during the past 2hrs, i.e. at an average speed of 31kn (57kmh). He extended the advantage on the existing record by 200nm on 230nm. Provided the favorable conditions persist, he will reach the Indian Ocean within two days and a massive advantage on the record. Inspite of the high speed, he had a 4h 13min sleep during the past 24hrs.
