Solo Around the World Fran├žois Gabart FRA Day 25
The deviation North after the frightening encounter with an iceberg costed some miles for François Gabart FRA, but with a 591nm advantage on the record, he is still over a day ahead of the record holder Thomas Coville FRA. With winds of up to 40kn and huge waves, the South Pacific is quite challenging this year. Gabart reduced the sail plan to limit the stress on his multihull. These conditions will remain for at least another two days.
