 Solo Around the World Record  François Gabart FRA around Cape Horn  Day 30  more records !
Yesterday around noon UTC, François Gabart FRA rounded Cape Horn after 29 days, 3 hours and 15 miinutes - a new record for solo skippers and the second-best time ever. Even more impressive was his Pacific Ocean crossing: With 7 days and 15 hours, he improved the absolute record time by 15 hours, and was 6 hours faster than the team of Thomas Coville FRA a year ago ! His advantage on the record was 1'156nm this morning, i.e. over 2 days ! Now on the home stretch to France, he is 20 days from a new solo round-the-world record, and without equipment problems, he will cross the Lizard (GBR) - Ouessant (FRA) finish line before Christmas.
