Light winds prevailed again at the Miami Olympic Classes Worldcup yesterday with five Medal Races on the program with three USA teams involved:

- Bora Gulari/Louisa Chafee rank 8 and Sarah Newberry/David Liebenberg rank 10 in the Nacra-17
- Stephanie Roble/Margaret Shea rank 9 in the 49ersFX

Three premature start disqualifications occurred in the hyper-nervous RS:X men windsurfer fleet, one of them by the leading Pawel Tarnowski POL, who dropped on rank 4 overall. The winner was Bing Ye CHN 5 points ahead of Radoslav Furmanski POL. On rank 3 followed Pierre Le Coq FRA. Chinese victory also in the RS:X women windsurfers with Yunxiu Lu CHN. Kathy Spychakov ISR and Charline Picon completed the podium.
In the 49ers, it was an easy game for the leading Erik Heil/Thomas Plössel GER as their first two challengers committed premature starts. Fletcher/Bithell GBR and Fantela/ Fantela CRO followed on the ranks 2 and 3. In the 49ersFX, the leaders Maloney/Meech NZL had a bad start and finishing 9th only in the Medal Race, they lost the first place to the Olympic Champions Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA 2 points ahead of the Kiwi girls.
No change on top of the Nacras 17 with Jason Waterhouse/Lisa Darmanin AUS as winners ahead of Samuel Albrecht/Gabriela Nicolino BRA and Santiago Lange/Cecilia Carranza ARG.

All other classes sailed their last qualification races and in all five events, North American teams are among the best ten qualified for today's Medal Races. The best by NorAm nation are:

- Laser (101 participants): 6th Charlie Buckingham USA, 28th Robert Davis CAN, 57th Yanic Gentry MEX
- Laser Radial (59 participants): 2nd Paige Railey USA, 6th Erika Reineke USA, 10th Sarah Douglas CAN, 57th Elena Oetling MEX
- Finn (25 participants): 3rd Luke Muller USA, 10th Tom Ramshaw CAN
- 470 Men (37 participants): 6th Stuart McNay/Dave Hughes USA, 37th Joshua Yale/Michael Montagnese CAN
- 470 Women (28 participants): 9th Atlantic + Nora Brugman USA

The top positions overall before today's Medal Races are as follows.
In the 470 men, Jordi Xammar/Nicolas Rodriguez ESP replaced the leading Dahlberg/Bergström SWE on top and the overall win will be decided among the two today. In the 470 women, the first three teams are separated by 4 points only. Frederike Löwe/Anna Markfort GER are first ahead of Hanna Mills/Eilidh McIntyre GBR and Fabienne Oster/Anastsiya Winkel GER.
The most exciting situation in today's double-points-no-discard Medal Race will be in the Finns with the first seven having a chance for the overall win mathematically ! Max Salminen SWE is in the lead 4 points ahead of Jonathan Lobert FRA and Luke Muller USA another 4 points behind on 3rd.
