The two Laser Classes concluded their quaifications with another two light-wind races yesterday, and the best North Americans before today's Medal Races with 4 of them qualified are:

- Laser (101 participants): 6th Charlie Buckingham USA, 28th Robert Davis CAN, 57th Yanic Gentry MEX
- Laser Radial (59 participants): 2nd Paige Railey USA, 6th Erika Reineke USA, 10th Sarah Douglas CAN, 57th Elena Oetling MEX

Here the overall situation:
Hermann Tomasgaard NOR extended his lead once more and has his Miami victory in the Laser Standard before today's Medal Race with a possibly record-breanking 65 point advantage. Sam Meech NZL is on a safe 2nd place as well as Tom Burton AUS on 3rd is 20 points back.
In the Lasers Radial, Dongshuang Zhang CHN is 12 points in front of Page Railey USA. Vasileia Karachaliou GRE has her 3rd place before the Medal Race for sure.
