 420  World Championship 2019  Vilamoura POR  Final results  Gold for ESP, GBR and GRE, three USA teams in toptens
The final two races at the 420 World Championship in Portugal, held in a 10kn breeze, removed Seb Menzies/Blake McGlashan NZL, defending champions and leaders during the whole event, from rank one in the Open rankings. Martin Vizner/Pedro Ameneiro ESP earned the Gold Medal ahead of the Kiwis. Bronze went to Conrad Konitzer/Fernando Rodriguez ESP. Will Mixyne Bachels/Louis Fontisee USA (North Lake and Biscayne Bay YC) are on the remarkable 10th place as best of the three USA teams among the 89 entrants. ----- In the 420 Women, Vita Heathcote/Milly Boyle GBR remained on top with Irene Calici/Petra Gregori ITA and Melina Pappa/Maria Tsamopoulou GRE completing the podium. Maddie Hawkins/Yumi Yoshiyasu USA (Annapolis YC) on rank 6 are the best ahead of 6 other USA Girls teams among the 37 entrants. ----- No change on the ranks one and two of the U17 with Odysseas Spanakis/Konstaninos Michalopoulos GRE earning the title ahead of Ange Delerce/Timothée Rossi FRA. Alberto Morales/Miguel Bethencourt ESP are 3rd. Vanessa Lahrkamp/Katherine McNamara USA (American YC) on 8th are the best of 4 USA U-17 teams in the 66 boat fleet ----- All results and the final report.
