 IMOCA Open 60  Vendee Globe  Day 51  winds exceeding 30nm on the Pacific
After rather moderate weather conditions over the Pacific Ocean so far, a large low-pressure system is now providing fresh winds exceeding 30kn. ----- The leading Yannick Bestaven FRA ('Maître Coq') could extend his lead on Charlie Dalin FRA ('Apivia') still in 2nd to 135nm. The big chasing group behind reduced the distance to the leader. Thomas Ruyant FRA ('LinkedOut') on 3rd is now 202nm back. The first non-foiler of the Paralympic Gold Medalist Damien Séguin FRA ('Groupe Apicil') has moved up to 4th place, 227nm behind, followed by Isabelle Joschke GER ('MASCF') in 5th another 50nm back. Jean Le Cam FRA ('Yes we Cam') and Boris Herrmann GER ('SeaExplorer') are just one mile farther behind. ----- The race tracker and the reports.
