IMOCA Open 60 Vendee Globe Day 78 Close sailing, everything possible
This morning UTC, the leader Charlie Dalin FRA (Apivia) still had 825 miles to go to the Sables d'Olonne - expected arrival on Wednesday. But who will win this time remains an open question! Louis Burton (Bureau Vallée 2) took the lead yesterday for a couple of hours and is only 32 miles behind Dalin this morning. Boris Herrmann GER (SeaExplorer) is still in third place, 69 miles behind. With his time credit of 6 hours, he is even in the lead at the moment! The best Non-Foiler is Damien Seguin FRA (Groupe Apicil) on rank 6 with a 297 miles deficit, but Jean Le Cam FRA (Yes we Cam!) sailing 230 miles behind Seguin - he rescued Kevin Escoffier FRA on the Indian Ocean - will move far ahead with his time credit of 16 hours. In the Bay of Biscay, however, another flat high is now waiting, and major changes are still possible! ----- The race tracker and the news.
