The conditions remained moderate on the third day of the 470 European Championships in Portugal. In the two races of the day, the leaders were able to hold their first places. ----- In the 470 men, Paul Snow-Jansen/Daniel Willcox NZL defended rank 1 with two 4th places. Best of the day, Kevin Peponnet/Mion FRA moved up to 2nd, 3 points behind. Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS follow in 3rd place. Stuart McNay/David Hughes USA (Trevor Moore Foundation) are now in 16th (one rank up), Jacob Saunders/Oliver Bone CAN (RNSYS/CYC/Trevor Moore Foundation) and Shawn Harvey/Augie Dale USA (Oyster Bay 470 Team) 21st and 22nd (one rank down each) among the 29 teams. ----- The 470 women continue to be led by Silvia Mas-Depares/Patricia Cantero ESP. Camille Lecointre/Aloise Retornaz FRA are 3 points behind in 2nd place. Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler SUI progressed to 3rd place ! ----- Big jump for the young Cole sisters! Carmen Emma Cowles USA (Larchmont YC) advanced from 13th to 7th as second-best of the day. The Olympians Nikole Barnes/Lara Dallman-Weiss USA (St. Francis YC, St. Thomas YC) descended on rank 14 among the 18 participants. ----- In the 470 mixed, Nitai Hasson/SaarTamir ISR extended their lead. Theres Dahnke/Matti Cipra GER moved up to 2nd place, 15 points behind. Vita Heathcote/Ryan Orr GBR are now in third place.
