Global Solo Challenge - La Coruna ESP - Cole Brauer USA first US women to sail nonstop around the world

The Global Solo Challenge - the non-stop solo round-the-world race for amateurs - is in its final phase: Andrea Mura ITA reached the finish line in La Coruna ESP last week in 3rd place. Winner Philippe Delamare FRA finished the race at the end of February, followed by Cole Brauer USA in second place on 7 March with her Class 40. At 29 years old, the American was the youngest participant and the only woman in the fleet of 16 competitors. She is the first American woman to complete a solo non-stop circumnavigation, which caused a sensation in the USA. She would now also like to be at the start of the Vendée Globe in November.
