Windsurfing - RS:X World Championship 2016 - Eilat ISR - Day 5 - Final results

 Windsurfing - RS:X World Championship 2016 - Eilat ISR - Day 5 - Final results No wind in the morning and the last Silverfleet races had to be cancelled, but in the afternoon, a moderate breeze filled in and the ten best sailed the Medal Race in good conditions.
In the RS:X men, Piotr Myszka POL starting to the Medal Race with a 22 points' lead had his World's title prematurely. Finishing 2nd in the last race, the Olympic Champion Dorian Van Rijsselberghe NED moved up on the 2nd place at equal points with his team mate Kiran Badloe NED. Nick Dempsey GBR on 4th missed the podium by 3 points only.
The Gold Medal went to Poland also in the RS:X women, as Malgorzata Bialecka POL defended her advance in the Medal Race. Bryony Shaw GBR, finishing 3rd in the final race, moved up on the 2nd place overall and relegated Lilian de Geus NED with the same number of points on 3rd.

 Windsurfing - RS:X World Championship 2016 - Eilat ISR - Day 5 - Gold for Piotr Myszka POL The last three Final Series races were completed in Eilat yesterday and with the day ranks 3/1/2, Piotr Myszka POL extended his lead in the RS:X men on 22 points, and herewith the premature World Champion before the today's Medal Race. The fight for Silver and Bronze will be close as Nick Dempsey GBR on 2nd ist only one point ahead of Kiran Badloe NED. Dorian Van Rijsselberghe NED on 4th and Pawel Tarnowski POL on 5th have also an option for a Medal. Pedro Pascual Suitt USA lost 4 ranks and is on the 38th place. Zach Plavsic CAN is 10th in the Silverfleet (51st overall) and David Mier y Teran MEX 14th (55th overall).
A victory for Poland in sight in the RS:X women as well with Malgorzata Bialecka POL 11 points ahead of Lilian de Geus NED before the Medal Race. Finishing 6th is good enough for the title. The Dutch woman on the other hand has to concentrate on the defense of Silver, as Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL and Bryony Shaw GBR are only one, respectively 2 points back. Stefania Elfutina RUS, already the premature Junior World Champion, has also chances for a Medal with an 8 points' deficit on Silver. Demita Vega MEX concludes the Championship on the 15th place, 13 points behind the Medal Race cut.

 Windsurfing - RS:X World Championship 2016 - Eilat ISR - Day 3 The Goldfleet sailed three light-wind Final Series races yesterday morning. In the afternoon, the wind disappeared and the Silverfleet races had to be postponed.
In the RS:X men, Piotr Myszka POL is now the sole leader, 11 points ahead of Louis Giard FRA and Shahar Zubari ISR. Pedro Pascual Suitt USA is two places up on 34th. Zach Plavsic CAN 56th and David Mier y Teran MEX 72nd in the Silverfleet did not compete.
In the RS:X women, Malgorzata Bialecka POL defended her lead, but Lilian de Geus NED reduced the backlog to one point. Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL and Marina Alabau ESP follow on the ranks 3 and 4. Demita Vega MEX remains on 16th, 18 points behind the Medal Race cut.

 Windsurfing - RS:X World Championship 2016 - Eilat ISR - Day 3, Demita Vega MEX and Pedro Pascual Suitt USA in the Goldfleets Yesterday was lay day in Eilat with the Qualification Series for the Gold- and Silverfleet - minimum 4 races completed - concluded. Today at 9h UTC, the Final Series races begin.
In the RS:X male windsurfers, Nick Dempsey GBR and Pawel Tarnowski POL share the lead. Pedro Pascual Suitt USA on 36th continues the competition in the Goldfleet, while Zach Plavsic CAN 56th and David Mier y Teran MEX 72nd remain in the Silverfleet.
In the RS:X female windsurfers, Malgorzata Bialecka POL has already a 9 points' advantage on her first challengers Flavia Tartaglini ITA and Lilian de Geus NED. Demita Vega MEX on 16th is clearly in the Goldfleet.

 Windsurfing - RS:X World Championship 2016 - Eilat ISR - Day 2, Demita Vega MEX on 16th best-ranked NorAm After the very light-wind opening day with only one race, the full program with three heats per fleet was completed yesterday. With this, the Qualification Series to split the fleets in Gold and Silver has been concluded after four races, without discard.
In the RS:X men windsurfers, Nick Dempsey GBR and Pawel Tarnowski POL share the lead ahead of Piotr Myszka POL and Louis Giard FRA on the ranks 3 and 4. Pedro Pascual Suitt USA is 36th, Zach Plavsic CAN 56th, David Mier y Teran MEX 72nd.
Winning all three races, Malgorzata Bialecka POL moved on top of the RS:X women windsurfers with a 9 points' lead on the second-ranked Flavia Tartaglini ITA. Lilian de Geus NED is now on 3rd. Demita Vega MEX is 16th.

 Windsurfing - RS:X World Championship 2016 - Eilat ISR - Day 1, medium results for NorAms Two races in the RS:X women and only one race in the RS:X men were completed yesterday, on the first day of the RS:X Windsurfing World Championship. In both gender fleets, the favorites have already taken the top positions.
In the RS:X men, the race winners in their groups were Shahar Zubari ISR and Piotr Myszka POL. Nick Dempsey GBR and Julien Bontemps FRA were 2nd each. Pedro Pascual Suitt USA is 34th, Zach Plavsic CAN 50th, David Mier y Teran MEX 81st.
In the RS:X women, the top places after two heats went to Zofia Nofreti-Klepacka POL ahead of Lilian de Geus NED 2nd and Malgorzata Bialecka POL 3rd. Demita Vega MEX is 20th.

 RS:X-Windsurfer - World Championship 2016 - Eilat ISR - Practice Race today with MEX and USA participants The World Championship of the Olympic RS:X windsurfers begins today on the Gulf of Aqaba, the Israeli entrance to the Red Sea, with the Practice Race. All top drivers are on the entry lists of this most important event before the Olympic Regattas in August. 87 men from 31 nations and 56 women from 33 nations participate. The North American representation consists of:
- USA: Pedro Pascual Suitt
- Mexico: David Mier y Teran, Demita Vega
