 Various classes - Key West Race Week - Key West FL, USA - Final results The morning thunderstorms did not inhibit the program of the final day of the Key West Race Week, and all classes completed the last two heats of the event in an initial 20 kn wind, increasing to up to 30 kn and a rough, challenging sea at the end, the icing on the cake after an excellent week. Only a few position changes in the top ranks occurred.
Carlo Alberini ITA with Branko Brcin SLO calling the shots was the clear winner in the J/70 with a 12 points' advantage on Peter Duncan USA and Tim Healey USA. In the Melges 24, it was Richard Thompson GBR (with Jamie Lea GBR) who replaced John Brown USA (Kevin Jewitt USA) on top. Richard Reid CAN (Chris Rast SUI) remained on 3rd.

 Various classes - Key West Race Week - Key West FL, USA - Day 4 All classes sailed again three races off Key West in a 12-14 kn wind and in some fleets, the leading boats are very close together points-wise before the last races today.
In the Melges 24, John Brown USA (tactics Kevin Jewitt USA) has taken the lead just one point ahead of Richard Thompson GBR (Jamie Lea GBR). Even Richard Reid CAN (Chris Rast SUI) 5 points behind still has a chance to win. In the J/70 however, the situation is clear as Carlo Alberini ITA (tactics Branko Brcin SLO) firmly holds his first place with now an 10 points advance on Tim Healey USA.

 Various classes - Key West Race Week 2016 - Key West FL, USA - Day 1 Fresh winds around 20 kn prevailed yesterday at the Key West Race Week (KWRW), making the opening day quite sporty. 130 teams from 12 nations compete, split in 12 classes.
All fleets sailed 3 races. Leader among the four 72-foot Maxis is 'Caol Ila R' of Alex Schaerer USA with John Cutler NZL as tactician. 'Bella Mente' of Hap Fauth USA with Terry Hutchinson USA follows closely behind. The largest fleet are the J/70 with 54 teams, and the favorites are already in the lead: Carlo Alberini ITA with his 'Calvi Network' is in front ahead of Tim Healy USA on 'Helly Hansen' and Julian-Fernandez Neckelmann MEX, i.e. the three teams of the World Championship podium. Only 15 Melges 24 participate this time with John Brown USA and his team on first. At equal points on the ranks 2 and 3 follow Richard Thompson GBR (tactics Jamie Lea GBR) and Richard Reid CAN (tactics Chris Rast SUI ).
