Winning both heats was not good enoug for 'Bronenosec' of Vladimir Liubomirov RUS and Michele Ivaldi ITA tactics to overtake 'Team Aqua' of Chris Bake GBR and Cameron Appleton NZL on top of the rankings. 'Nika' of Vladimir Prosikhin RUS and Ed Baird USA finished on the 3rd position.

Good conditions on the Bermudas also yesterday at the season kickoff of the RC-44s. Three races were completed and 'Team Aqua' with Chris Bake GBR and Cameron Appleton NZL as tactician defended the first place 4 points ahead of 'CEREEF' with Igor Lah SLO and Adrian Stead GBR, tactics. The team of the day however was 'Nika' (Vladimir Prosikhin RUS/Ed Baird USA) advancing on rank 3.

A fresh 20 to 25 kn breeze prevailed yesterday and the RC-44 Championship Tour Bermuda act contined with another three fleetraces. The boats on top closed up and the first place is shared by Chris Bake GBR with his 'Team Aqua' and Vladimir Liubomirov RUS with 'Bronenosec'. Igor Lah SLO with his 'CEREEF' is only 2 points behind.

Fleetracing at the first round of the RC-44 Championship Tour 2016 began yesterday with four races sailed in a 10-15 kn wind. As in matchracing, the experienced teams controlled the competition. Leader after four heats is 'Team Aqua' (Chris Bake GBR/tactics Cameron Appleton NZL) 2 points ahead of 'Bronenosec' with Vladimir Liubomirov RUS and the tactician Michele Ivaldi ITA. On rank 3 follows the Swedish 'Artemis' (Torbjörn Tornquist SWE/Francesco Bruni ITA), forced to return to the harbour after a massive collision shortly after the first start. Thanks to redress points, she will remain in the race.
