 Laser Radial - Women World Championship 2016 - Nuevo Vallarta MEX - Gold for Alison Young GBR, Silver for Paige Railey USA As expected considering the minor points' gaps between the top athletes, the last two races at the Laser Women's Worlds had much excitement. The winds remained moderate with 8-10 kn in the first and up to 15 kn with lull zones below 10 kn in the second heat.
Paige Railey USA defended her top position in the first race, but Alison Young GBR replaced her on rank one by a single point with a start to finish victory in the final race. The defending champion Anne-Marie Rindom DEN grasped Bronze while Marit Bouwmeester NED, dominator of the season, had to content herself with rank 4. Gintare Scheidt-Volungeviciute LTU, Olympia-Silver 2008, finishing on rank 5, is more and more on her way up after her baby pause. The astonishing Erika Reinecke USA is 6th. Best of the day yesterday (ranks 2/2) was the Olympic Champion Lijia Xu CHN on the 7th place overall. Brenda Bowskill CAN is 10th, Elia Tania Calles MEX 28th.

 Laser Radial - Women World Championship 2016 - Nuevo Vallarta MEX - Day 6, Paige Railey takes the lead An initial 10 kn, freshening on 16 kn lateron prevailed yesterday during the Final Series Races 3 and 4. As best of the day with the rank 2 and 5, Paige Railey USA moved up on top of the interims rankings. Two more races are left on the final day and the race for the title and the medals is fully open. Marit Bouwmeester NED on 2nd is 3, Alison Young GBR 5 points behind the US women, and even Anne-Marie Rindom DEN 10 points behind has chances for the title or at least a medal.  Laser Radial - Women World Championship 2016 - Nuevo Vallarta MEX - Day 5, Railey USA 3rd, Bowskill CAN 6th The seabreeze filled in late on the first day of the Final Series races at the Laser Radial Women's Worlds in Mexico. Two races were completed in moderate winds. Finishing 1 and 3, Alison Young GBR is the new leader, as the previous first and clear favorite Marit Bouwmeester NED had a downer (rank 17) in addition the a 2nd race rank and slipped on rank 2 overall one point back. Paige Railey USA remains 3rd followed by two other experience athletes, Gintare Scheidt-Volungeviciute LTU and the defending Champion Anne-Marie Rindom DEN. Brenda Bowskill CAN moved up on rank 6 while Erika Reinecke USA had a bad day (ranks 18 and 25) and descended on the 9th place.

Laser Radial - Women World Championship 2016 - Nuevo Vallarta MEX - Day 4, best US girls are Railey 2nd, Reinecke 4th

 Laser Radial - Women World Championship 2016 - Nuevo Vallarta MEX - Day 4, best US girls are Railey 2nd, Reinecke 4th Variable winds on day 4 of the Laser Radial Women's Worlds in Mexico. After a number of start attempts and course changes, both groups succeeded to complete one race each to bring the Qualification Series to an end.
Marit Bouwmeester NED finished on rank 2 and extended her overall lead on 10 points. Paige Railey USA remains 2nd. New on rank 3 is Alison Young GBR. Some well-knows names are missing on the Goldfleet list of the 35 best, such as the 4th-ranked of the Olympics Annalise Murphy IRL, Dongshuang Zhang CHN, Pernelle Michon FRA and Amélie Riou FRA. The other top North Americans are Erika Reineke (4th) from USA and Canadian Brenda Bowskill (8th).

Laser Radial - Womens World Championship 2016 - Nuevo Vallarta MEX - Day 3

 Laser Radial - Womens World Championship 2016 - Nuevo Vallarta MEX - Day 3 A good breeze was back at the Mexican Pacific Coast after the light wind second day of the Championship that is now back on track with three races completed in both Groups. The last two Qualification Series races to split the fleet in Gold an Silver groups are still pending.
After a downer in race one (rank 17), the favorite Marit Bouwmeester NED came back strongly winning all races in her Group and moving on top of the overall rankings. Paige Railey USA, winning two heats yesterday, follows on rank 2 with a 6 points' deficit. Erika Reineke USA descended on rank 3. With the tied Alison Young GBR and the defending champion Anne-Marie Rindom DEN, two other favorites follow on the ranks 4 and 5.

 Laser Radial - Women World Championship 2016 - Nuevo Vallarta MEX - Day 2 Light winds delayed the program at the Olympic Women Laser Radial World Championship in Mexico yesterday. Only one of the two groups completed both two planned races. First after 3 heats is still Erika Reineke USA with a 3rd race rank yesterday. New on rank 2 is Gintare Scheidt-Volungeviciute LTU, Paige Railey USA follows on the 3rd place. Unfortunately, the event website has not been available this morning, and we do not dispose of an updated ranking list at press deadline.

 Laser Radial - Women's World Championship 2016 - Nueva Vallarta MEX - Day 1, surprising US lead after day 1 The Olympic Laser Radial women started their 2016 World Championship in Nueva Vallarte MEX with two races.
Erika Reineke USA, finishing 2 and 3 in her Group, is the first overall leader. Surprising 2nd is Isabella Maegli GUA (1/5) and on rank 3 follows the Olympic Champion Lijia Xu CHN. Isabella Bertold CAN is 19th.
