Windsurfing - RS:X European Championship 2016 - Helsinki FIN - Final results

Windsurfing - RS:X European Championship 2016 - Helsinki FIN - Final results A thick fog delayed the start of the Medal Races in Helsinki yesterday, but with a light breeze filling in, it cleared off and the French windsurfers had their day.
Inspite of a 13 points' deficit, Thomas Goyard FRA replaced the leading Kieran Holmes GBR on top of the RS:X men. Pawel Tarnowski POL, 3rd, just made the podium with a 2nd Medal Race rank and Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI at equal points had to content himself with rank 4..
French was the victory also in the Medal Race of the RS:X women with Charline Picon FRA grasping the European title. Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL at equal points, leader during the entire Championship, dropped on rank 2. The Youth World Champion Stefania Elfutina RUS finished on the 3rd place.
The decisions in the Men Youth Championship seemed to be clear considering the points' gaps, but the Medal Race brought an overthrow on the podium. Titouan Le Bosq FRA won the race and moved up on rank 1 overall one point ahead of Tal Zadok ISR. Sil Hoekstra NED jumped on the podium as 3rd only 2 points behind the winner. In the Women Youth, Noi Driham ISR defended her first place and Maya Morris ISR completed the Israeli success as 2nd. Maryam Sekhpsyian RUS earned Bronze.

Windsurfing - RS:X European Championship 2016 - Helsinki FIN - Day 5

Windsurfing - RS:X European Championship 2016 - Helsinki FIN - Day 5 The Final Series leading to the Medal Races of today were concluded yesterday again in moderate 8-12 kn conditions. In three of the four different events, the overall winner seems to be predecided.
Kieran Holmes GBR goes with a 13 points' advantage on Thomas Goyard FRA to the Medal Race of the RS:X men and 7th place will be good enough for the title. On the 3rd place with an 11 points backlog on rank 2 follows Przemyslav Miarczynski POL, who will have to defend the Bronze Medal against Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI, as best yesterday now only 2 points behind rank 3.
Leader in the Youth Boys is Tal Zadok ISR 9 points ahead of Titouan Le Bosq FRA. The ranks 2-6 are separated by 6 points only.
An Israelian victory is also to expect in the Youth Girls with Noy Drihan ISR 13 points ahead of Mariam Sekhposyan RUS. Only 2 points behind follows Maya Morris GBR.
Three athletes will fight for the title in the RS:X women: Zofia Noceti-Klepacka POL still leads but her advantage on Stefania Elfutina RUS has melted on 2 points and also Charline Picon FRA 6 points behind Gold could still grasp the title.
