Olympic Classes - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Final results, Wiley Rogers/Jack Parkin USA first in the 420s

 Olympic Classes - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Final results, Wiley Rogers/Jack Parkin USA first in the 420s Yesterday, Part II of the Medal Races ended with the Medal Races.
Undefeated for four years in the 49ers, Peter Burling/Blair Tuke NZL have added another victory to their palmares. In absence of the top teams, Tina Lutz/Susann Beucke GER grasped rank 1 in the 49ersFX. The superior winners in the 470s - men and women sailing in one fleet for lack of participants - were Ferdinand Gerz/Oliver Szymanski GER. In the Finns, Philipp Kasueske GER finished first ahead of Ivan Kljakovic CRO and Peter Kohlhoff/Carolina Werner GER won in the small 6-boats' Nacra 17 fleet.
In addition to the Olympic Classes, a number of international classes sailed in Part II as well. As always, the 420s were present with an impressive international 162 boats' fleet. Winners after 9 heats were Wiley Rogers/Jack Parkin USA ahead of Jan and Lea Borbet GER. Italians dominated the Melges 24 with Andrea Pozzi ITA 1st and Andrea Rachelli ITA 2nd.

Laser - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Final results

 Laser - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Final results The two Laser Classes concluded the 2016 Kiel Week with the Medal Races yesterday.
The German Olympian Philipp Buhl GER dominated the Lasers Standard with a considerable advantage on Giovanni Coccoluto ITA and Sergei Komissarov RUS. Finishing last in the Medal Race, Tiril Hardtved-Bue NOR kept nevertheless rank 1 in the Lasers Radial ahead of Monika Mikkola FIN and Svenja Weger GER.

J/70 - European Championship 2016 - Kiel GER - Day 2

The J/70 Europeans in Kiel continued yesterday with two races sailed in a light wind. Winning a race, Claudio Rossi ITA and his team are new on top of the overall rankings at equal points with Stefano Roberti MON and Edoardo Lupi ITA. Best of the day was Stefan Seger SUI and his RCO team finishing twice on 3rd and moving up on rank 8 overall.

Olympic Classes - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Day 3

Racing was difficult for all classes in the prevailing light winds on Kiel Bay.
Peter Burling/Blair Tuke NZL remained on top of the 49ers ahead of Warrer/Lübeck DEN and Kostov/Cupac CRO as first challengers. Inspite of a premature start, Tina Lutz/Susann Beucke GER even extended their lead in the 49ersFX on 22 points. In addition to the Olympic Classes, the Melges 24 started among other International Classes with their Kiel Week. Andrea Pozzi ITA with his team leads ahead of Andrea Rachelli ITA.

 Olympic Classes - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Day 2 Sun and moderate winds prevailed on the second day of the Olympic Classes Kiel Week. In the 49ers, Peter Burling/Blair Tuke NZL have taken the lead, but Kostov/Cupac CRO are only one point behind. In the 49ersFX, Tina Lutz/Susann Beucke GER have taken the lead. In the 470 Olympic fleet - men and women - Ferdinand Gerz/Oliver Szymanski GER are first, Anna Kirilyuk/Liudmilla Dmitreva RUS on 4th are the best women's team. In the Finns, Paul Kohlhoff GER and Philipp Kasueske GER share the lead. See the separate news for the Lasers.

 Laser - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Day 2 Summery conditions with moderate winds prevailed on the second day of the Laser Kiel Week. Both fleets sailed three races each.
In the Radials, Pauline Liebig GER has taken the lead winning the last race of the day. Monika Mikkola FIN is only one point behind. Marthe Eider NOR follows on rank 3. Two race wins went to the German Olympian Philipp Buhl GER, replacing Jonathan Vadnai HUN on top of the rankings. Anders Karlsson SWE advanced on rank 3.

Laser - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Day 1

 Laser - Kieler Woche - Kiel GER - Day 1 Part II of the Kiel Week with the two Laser fleets began yesterday sailing two races each with sun and a light breeze.
In the 110 Lasers Standard, split in two groups, Jonathan Vadnai HUN has taken the overall lead with the day ranks 1 and 4. Philipp Buhl GER and Nik Willim GER follow on the ranks 2 and 3.
In the Lasers Radial, both races were won by Monika Mikkola FIN. Pauline Liebig GER and Marthe Eider NOR follow on the ranks 2 and 3.
