470 - Junior World Championship 2016 - Kiel GER - Final results

 470 - Junior World Championship 2016 - Kiel GER - Final results The 470 Junior World Championship in Kiel ended yesterday with the Medal Races.
Keiju Okada/Naoya Kimura JPN grasped the title in the 470 men with an attack on the final downwind leg to the finish. David and Alex Charles ESP as Medal Race winner remained only 3 points behind the Japanese on rank 2. Bronze went to Japan as well .... the Olympics 2020 will be in Japan .... with Taichi Takayama/Akira Takayanagi JPN removing the defending Champions Pirouelle/Sipan FRA from the podium.
Superior winners in the 470 women are Silvia Depares/Paula Martin ESP with a 22 points' advantage on Marina Lefort/Lara Granier FRA who had the upper hand on Maria Bozi/Rafailina Klonaridou GRE in the duel for Silver and Bronze. Frederike Loewe/Anna Markfort GER on 4th missed the podium by 2 points only.

470 - Junior World Championship 2016 - Kiel GER - Day 4

Yesterday, the last Final Series races were sailed at the 470 Junior Worlds in Kiel leading to today's Medal Races, and in both fleets, a preliminary decision seems to have been made.
In the 470 men, Keiju Okada/Naoja Kimura JPN extended their lead on 11 points as the first challengers Winkel/Cipra GER dropped back after a premature start and a disqualification. New on rank 2 are now Pirouelle/Sipan FRA, Charles/Charles ESP follow on rank 3.
In the 470 women, the advantage of Silvia Depares/Paula Martin ESP before the Medal Race is 14 points. Lefort/Granier FRA and Bozi/Klonaridou GRE only one point behind will fight for Silver and Bronze.

 470 - Junior World Championship 2016 - Kiel GER - Day 3 The 470 Junior Worlds continued yesterday with the first Final races on the inshore course just outside the Kiel Harbour. The men sailed two, the women one race in variable winds.
Leader change in the 470 men where Okada/Kimura JPN replaced Winkel/Cipra GER on top. Charles/Charles ESP and Pirouelle/Sipan FRA follow at equal points on the ranks 3 and 4. Three races are still on the program and with the small points gaps between the teams, everything is possible.
Silvia Depares/Paula Martin ESP defended her first position in the 470 women with a 6 points' lead on Bozi/Klonaridou GRE. New on rank 3 are Lefort/Granier FRA at equal points with Loewe/Markfort GER on 4th.

 470 - Junior World Championship 2016 - Kiel GER - Day 2 The 470 Junior World Championship went on yesterday with 3 races sailed in a 2-3 bft wind, concluding the qualification phase for the Gold- and Silverfleets of the 470 men. In both gender classes, the favorites have moved on top.
In the 470 men, Malte Winkel/Matti Cipra GER have taken the lead ahead of Okada/Kimura JPN and Charles/Charles ESP. The defending champions Pirouelle/Sipan FRA advanced on rank 5.
Silvia Depares Paula Martin ESP moved up on rank 1 in the 470 women with Bozi/Klonaridou GRE, Loewe/Markfort GER and Lefort/Granier FRA as first challengers.

 470 - Junior World Championship 2016 - Kiel GER - Day 1 During the Kiel Week 2016, the 470 Junior World Championship (up to age 24) is on the program. Three races were sailed yesterday on the difficult inshore course just in front of the harbour. Cipra/Winkel GER lead in the interim's rankings of the 470 men followed by Okada/Kimura JPN and Norizan Abdul Aziz MAS on the ranks 2 and 3.
The 470 women are sailing in one fleet with Lefort/Granier FRA leading 3 points ahead of Depares/Martin ESP and Bozi/Klinaridou GRE.
