 Windsurfing - Techno 293 - World Championship 2016 - Torbole ITA - Final results, Nores USA 8th The Techno293 World Championship on Lake Garda ITA, the most popular youth windsurfing class, was concluded yesterday morning in a fresh Northwind. 474 young athletes from 33 nations participated, split in 6 categories.
In the Boys U17, Mathieu Garandeau FRA defended the first place. Thanks to two race wins, Leonidas Tsortanidis GRE advanced on rank 2. The Bronze medal went to Fabien Pianazza FRA. Geronimo Nores USA finished 8th. Much disputed was the Boys U15 competition. The last day made the difference in favor of Mathis Ghio FRA with two race wins, with only one point on Eyal Zror ISR 2nd and Finn Hawkins IRL 3rd at equal points. Georgia Speciale ITA, premature champion before the last day, won another race yesterday and is the superior winner in the Girls U17s ahead of Enrica Schirru ITA and Aikaterini Divari GRE. Georgia Speciale ITA, not yet 17, honored her name and was really "special" winning the Techno293 Worlds' title for the fourth time in a row. The report. In the Girls U15, Mak Cheuk Wing HKG succeeded to move on top of the rankings on the last day, relegating Mathilde Garandeau FRA on the 2nd place. Linoy Geva ISR finished 3rd. Winners in the Techno 293 Plus (with larger sails) were Antonio Angemi ITA in the men and Clementine Le Joliff FRA in the women.

 Windsurfing - Techno 293 - World Championship 2016 - Torbole ITA - Day 5 Only 1 or 2 races per fleet could be sailed yesterday on Lake Garda. Together with the second discard in effect, some changes occurred in the overall rankings.
At least one premature World Champion has emerged: Giorgia Speciale ITA added another race win in the Youth Girls (U17) and extended the lead on uncatchable 21 points. Hardly to be replaced is also the 2nd-ranked Enrica Schurru ITA. Fully open however is the situation before the last races today in the Junior Girls (U15): Mathilde Garandeau FRA is only 2 points ahead of Linoy Geva ISR, winner of both races yesterday. Another 2 points back remains Mak Cheuk Wing HKG with a fair chance for the title as well. In the Youth Boys (U17), the French are in command. Tom Garandeau FRA leads 16 points in front of Matao Dussarps FRA. Fabien Pianazza FRA follows 4 points behind. In the Junior Boys (U15), Eyal Zror has a 10 points' lead on Finn Hawkins IRL and Mathis Ghio FRA at equal points. In the Plus Men (Ü18), Antonino Cangemi ITA is almost thru for the title as his advantage on the second Jakob Ruud NOR is 18 points. Clementine Le Joliff FRA leads in the Plus Women (U18) 5 points ahead of Rosanna Stancampiano ITA. 2 to 3 races are on the program today, final day of the Championship.

 Windsurfing - Techno 293 - World Championship 2016 - Torbole ITA - Day 4 The Techno Worlds on Lake Garda, lasting until tomorrow Saturday, are now in its crucial phase with the fleets split in Gold- and Silver groups. Three races were completed yesterday.
Tom Garandeau FRA moved on top of the Youth Boys (U17) with the ranks 1/4/3 and is now 2 points ahead of Geronimo Nores USA. Nicolo Renna ITA on rank 3 is not far away. In the Junior-Boys (U15), Alexandros Kalpogiannakis GRE is again the sole leader 6 points ahead of Eyal Zror ISR. Matthias Ghio FRA follows on the 3rd place.
Giorgia Speciale ITA remains a class of her own in the Youth Girls (U17), starting the final races with the ranks 1/1/2. Her lead on Enrica Schirru ITA is now already 13 points. Fully open however is the situation in the Junior Girls (U15), where the first five are closely together. Mathilde Garandeau FRA leads 3 points ahead of Mak Cheuk Wing HKG.

 Windsurfing - Techno 293 - World Championship 2016 - Torbole ITA - Day 3, Nores USA 1st Youth Boys Finally a sunny day and the wind came back on Lake Garda yesterday. After 5 races completed in each fleet, the ranking lists are now more meaningful.
Geronimo Nores USA won both heats in the Youth Boys (U17) and is the new leader 2 points ahead of Nicola Renna ITA. With the day ranks 1 and 2, Eyal Zror ISR moved on top of the Juniors (U15) at equal points with Alexandros Kalpogiannakis GRE on 2nd. A class of her own is Giorgia Speciale ITA in the Youth Girls having won 5 of the 6 races. Her advantage on Enrica Schirru ITA is already 11 points. Matilde Garandeau FRA leads in the Junior Girls (U15) 3 points ahead of Mak Cheuk WIN HKG.

 Windsurfing - Techno 293 - World Championship 2016 - Torbole ITA - Day 1, Nores USA 5th The Techno-293 World Championship began yesterday on Lake Garda in a moderate Northwind and overcast skies.
