Windsurfing - RS:X Youth World Championship 2016 - Limassol CYP - Final results, without North Americans

 Windsurfing - RS:X Youth World Championship 2016 - Limassol CYP - Final results, without North Americans Light winds prevailed yesterday during the Medal Races, respectively the last race for the rest of the fleets to conclude the RS:X Windsurfing Youth World Championship on Cyprus, a Championship without North Americans.
Yoav Omer ISR had his title in the Boys prematurely before the Medal Race already. Winning this last heat, he demonstrated once more his superiority. He will without doubt be the key favorite at the World Sailing Youth Worlds in New Zealand in December. Camille Bouyer FRA and Tom Reuveny ISR earned Silver and Bronze.
Winning the Medal Race of the Girls, Katy Spychakov ISR replaced the defending champion Noy Driham ISR on top of the rankings at the end of the Championship. Mariam Sekhposyan RUS took Bronze.

 Windsurfing - RS:X Youth World Championship 2016 - Limassol CYP - Day 5 The Final Series at the RS:X Windsurfer Worlds in Limassol CYP, the Boys sailing in a Gold- and Silverfleet, were concluded yesterday with three races for the first time in lighter winds.
In the Boys, all went in favor of the defending champion Yoav Omer ISR who kept the situation under control also in these new conditions. With a 32 points' lead, he has defended his title prematurely before today's Medal Race. Camille Bouyer FRA is new on rank 2. Still in the race for a medal 10 points behind are Mack Van den Eerenbreemt ARU and Tom Reuveny ISR at equal points.
Contrary is the situation in the Girls, where the clearly leading oy Driham ISR flopped in two of the three heats, letting the second-ranked Katy Spychakov ISR reduce the backlog on 5 points. Even Emma Wilson GBR on the 3rd place with a 12 points' deficit has a small chance for the title in today's Medal Race.

 Windsurfing - RS:X Youth World Championship 2016 - Limassol CYP - Day 4 After the lay day, the RS:X Windsurfer Youth World Championship on Cyprus continued with 3 races. Big waves and an up to 30 kn breeze provided again for spectacular heats.
In the Boys' Goldfleet, the two Group dominators met for the first time in the same fleet, and it was the defending champion Yoav Omer ISR who took the overall lead with the day ranks 1/2/1 one point ahead of Mack Van den Eerenbeemst ARU/NED. In the Girls, Noy Driham ISR went on with her winning streak inspite of a premature start disqualification. The 2nd-placed Katy Spychakov ISR has a 11 points' backlog. Emma Wilson GBR follows on rank 3.

 Windsurfing - RS:X Youth World Championship 2016 - Limassol CYP - Day 3 After six races completed in excellent sailing conditions, an 18-20 kn wind, the youth windsurfers enjoyed the lay day yesterday at the RS:X Youth Worlds in Limassol CYP. Up to now, the Israelian defending champions are well positioned and remain the favorites for the male and female titles.
With 5 race wins, Noy Drihan ISR is on top of the Girls, and in the Boys, Yoav Omer ISR realized also 5 bullets in his Group. Even better was only Mack Van den Eerenbeemt NED, who won all 6 heats. Today, racing will continue in a Gold- and Silverfleet, and the two dominators so far will meet directly for the first time.

 Windsurfing - RS:X Youth World Championship 2016 - Limassol CYP - Day 2 Top conditions - a 22 kn breeze - prevailed again yesterday at the RS:X-Youth World Championship on Cyprus.
In the Boys category, Mack Van den Eerenbreemt NED is now the sole leader with another three race wins, but the defending champion Yoav Omer ISR (yesterday 1/2/1) remains closely behind. On rank 3 follows Tom Reuveny ISR, at the same time leader in the U17-rankings. In the Girls, the defending champion Noy Drihan ISR won all three heats taking the overall lead with a 7 points' advantage on Katy Spychakov ISR. Emma Wilson GBR moved up on rank 3.

 Windsurfing - RS:X Youth World Championship 2016 - Limassol CYP - Day 1 The RS:X Youth World Championship began yesterday on Cyprus with sun and a 16-18 kn breeze. Both fleets completed three races each, with the 72 Boys' fleet from 16 nations split in two groups. The defending Champion Yoav Omer ISR and Mack Van den Eerenbeemt NED (Aruba) won both all three races of their groups. In the Girls' fleet (24 drivers from 11 nations). the defending Champion Noy Drihan ISR is on top with the ranks 2/1/1, Maya Morris ISR and Katy Spychatov ISR follow on the ranks 2 and 3.
