The 60th edition of the Christmas Race in Nizza was concluded yesterday with another three races sailed in a moderate Northwind from the shore. Giampiero Poggi/Manlio Corsi ITA were again best of the day with a row of solid top results and finished first overall ahead of Roberto Benamati/Alessandro Vongher ITA and Emilios Papathanasiou/ Alexis Tsotras GRE. Jack Jennings/Frithjof Kleen USA/GER follow on rank 22 among the 48 teams from 12 nations, a record-size fleet on the occasion of the 60th Jubilee.

A stormy Eastwind exceeding 30 kn filled in yesterday at the Christmas Race in Nizza and racing was suspended for the day. Leaders after the first two races of the opening day are Giampiero Poggi/Manlio Corsi ITA 4 points ahead of the tied Emilios Papathanasiou/Antonis Tsotras GRE and Jean-Gabriel Charton/Olivier Terrol FRA. 48 teams from 12 nations participate.

The 60th edition of the Starboat Christman Race began yesterday morning with two races, sailed in a moderate Northwind. In the afternoon, the seabreeze did not fill in sufficiently for additional races.

This morning at 8.45h CET, the start will be given to the 60th Christmas Race of Nizza FRA. In winter, the morning wind from the North lasts until noon. In the afternoon, a light, non reliable seabreeze may fill in. 46 teams from 12 nations are on the entry list, including Xavier Rohart FRA and Roberto Benamati ITA, two past Worldchampions. Sun, moderate temperatures and rather light winds shall prevail during the whole event.
