In the Lasers Standard, Carlos Martinez ESP has taken the lead with two race wins. Carlos Echevarri ESP remains on rank 2, Wolfgang Gerz SUI as best Great Grand Master is 3rd.

The first Round of the Laser European Masters' Series at the Costa Brava ESP was to begin yesterday with the Practice Race, but the Tramontana exceeding 25 kn inhibited the start of the tune-up race. Race 1 has been scheduled for today 11 h UTC.

The Laser Masters' Series begins today at the Spanish Costa Brava with in total 115 participants in various age categories (from the age of 35 up) on the Laser Standard and Radial entry lists. Olympic medalists such as José-Luis Doreste ESP and Miguel Noguer ESP, the past Finn World Champion Wolfgang Gerz GER or Starboat European Champion Michael Nissen GER will be on the starting line.
The "Oldies" will encounter rough conditions today, as the Wind-Prognosenwind forecast[/URL] predicts 16-22 kn with gusts of up to 30 kn.
