The shifty wind allowed to sail only one race on the last day of the Optimist North American Championship on Lake Ontario/Toronto.
Stephan Baker USA was again the winner and finished the event as superior Champion with a 7 points' advantage on Thomas Kerrigan. Anastassios Gkaripis GRE moved up as 3rd on the podium with a 3rd rank in the last race. 178 participants from 20 nations.

After the Team-Race day (here the video with Peru as winner (no details on website), the first Final Series fleet races at the Optimist North American Championship were held on Lake Ontario yesterday.
Stephan Baker USA, day ranks 1 and 2, extended his overall lead and is now 6 points ahead of Thomas Kerrigan USA. Lorenzo Balestrin BRA advanced on rank 3.

After two days with individual Championship fleetraces, the traditional Team Racing event was on the program. Unfortunately, no details have been available on the event website this morning UTC. However, a video on the fleetrace of day two has been posted on the website.
Apparently, Team Racing had to be abandoned because of unstable winds. Results of the duels completed so far are on the event facebook page.

The 2017 Optimist North American Championship with 178 participants from 17 nations began yesterday in Toronto CAN with two races.
Peter Fowley USA has taken the overall lead with the ranks 1 and 2 in his Group. Lorenzo Balestrin BRA and Owen Hennessy USA follow on rank 2 at equal points.
