49er, 49erFX - European Championship 2017 - Kiel GER - Final results, best USA teams in the 20ies

49er, 49erFX - European Championship 2017 - Kiel GER - Final results, best USA teams in the 20ies A fresh and puffy breeze from the shore prevailed yesterday during the finals of the Olympic Skiffs and racing was furious.
The 49ersFX sailed their 3 Medal Races as first and the whole fleet except Tina Lutz/Susann Beucke GER was once or several times taking a bath. Considering the teams' difficulties to handle these conditions, the third race was cancelled. The former Optimist World Champion Lutz together with Beucke GER as crew were obviously the clear winners of both races and won the Europeans' title ahead of Charlotte Dobson/Saskia Tidey GBR Silver and Viktoria Jurczok/Anika Lorenz GER Bronze. Stephanie Roble/Maggie Shea US are 23rd.
The Medal Races of the 49ers have been cancelled after the carnage of the 49erFX, and the winners of the Qualifcation Series, Dylan Fletcher/Stuart Bithell GBR, were proclaimed European Champions one point ahead of David Gilmour/Joel Turner AUS. Bronze went to James Peters/Fynn Sterritt GBR. Judge Ryan/Hans Henken USA are 29th, Alexander Heinzelmann/Justin Barnes CAN 59th.
