After the smashing victory of the MOD70 multihull 'Concise' in one day and 8 hours, the first monohulls finished the Fastnet Race in Plymouth GBR yesterday evening. 2 days and 9 hours was the race time of the 88-foot 'Rambler' of George David USA as second-ranked. 5 hours later, Paul Meilhat FRA finished first in the IMOCA Open 60 rankings. Best of the seven Volvo 65 was 'Dongfeng' CHN with Charles Caudrelier FRA arriving this morning around 4 o'clock just one minute ahead of 'Mapfre' ESP with Javi Fernandez ESP. The remaining Volvo 65s will arrive in Plymouth during this morning. Up to now, only 6 boats crossed the finish line.

Yesterday, the record-size 386 boats fleet started in Cowes Class-wise direction the Fastnet Rock on the South Coast of Ireland. By this morning, only the MOD-70 catamaran 'Concise' had passed the most South-West point of England. In the Open 60 rankings, Paul Meilhat FRA with his 'SMA' is in the lead. First in the Class 40 is Paul Sharp GBR.
The Volvo 65 sail the Fastnet Race as a Prologue of the Ocean Races. This morning, 'Akzo Nobel' with Simeon Tienpont NED was on position one, ahead of 'Dong Feng' with Charles Caudrelier FRA and 'Mapfre' with Javi Fernandez ESP sailing neck-and-neck.
