A-Cat - World Championship 2017 - Sopot POL - Final results, Maloney USA 8th
Apparently, no races were sailed yesterday in Sopot POL, as the ranking lists are unchanged. Steve Brouwer AUS is the new World Champion with a big advantage after a superior series. Silver and Bronze went to Tymoteusz Bendyk POL and the best junior Jakub Surowiec POL. Bruce Mahoney USA is 8th.

The favorable sailing condition at the A-Cat Worlds in Sopot POL allowed to complete three more final series races. Finishing 4/2/1, Steve Brewin AUS was again the best of the day, extending his overall lead on 16 points. Tymoteusz Bendyk POL follows on rank 2, Jakub Surowiec POL, best youth helmsman, moved up on rank 3. After the second discard - 4 races are still on the program in the coming 2 days - Manuel Calavia ESP will be back in the race for a Medal. He is on rank 10 but with a 55th place on the account. Bruce Mahoney USA, ranks 1 and 9, is now up on the 8th place.
The Qualification Series at the A-Cat World Championship in Sopot POL was concluded yesterday with two races sailed in a 12 kn breeze, and the first races of the Gold- and Silverfleets were started immediately. 
The thundery weather did not allow racing at the Polish Baltic Sea Coast yesterday. Joint leaders after the first two races on the opening day are Darren Bundock AUS and Steve Brewin AUS. Sandro Caviezel SUI is on the 3rd place. Bruce Mahoney USA follows as 12th. 
The top-quality A-Cat World Championship 2017 in Poland began yesterday in a 12-14 kn wind with two races and the 126 boats' fleet split in two Groups.
