 470 - Junior World Championship 2017 - Enoshima JPN - Final results, Rogers/Parkin USA 5th The typhoon off the Japan coast provided again for fresh winds around 20 kn yesterday with the Medal Races and sail-off regattas on the program.
Silvia Mas/Paula Barcela ESP had defended their 470 Junior Worlds title prematurely before the last race. Finishing third in the last heat, Nia Jerwood/Monique De Vries AUS advanced on the 2nd place overall. Bronze went to Ilaria Paternoster/Bianca Caruso ITA. Sarah De Silva/Julia Fuller USA are on 24 among the 25 participants.
Hippolyte Machetti/Sidoine Dantes FRA consolidated their big advance with a 3rd position in the Medal Race and won their first 470 title. Guillaume Pirouelle/Valentin Sipan FRA won the Medal Race and grasped Silver with a 13 points' deficit on the Champions. Bronze went to Daichi Takayama/Naoya Kimura JPN. Wiley Rogers/Jack Parkin USA finished 2nd in the Medal Race and are 5th in the final rankings among the 38 teams.

 470 - Junior World Championship 2017 - Enoshima JPN - Day 6, Rogers/Parkin USA 5th overall Fresh winds between 20 and 25 kn and big waves - the forefront of an approaching typhoon - prevailed yesterday in Enoshima JPN. With two races in each fleet, the Qualification Series for today's Medal Races were concluded, and the men's race has already been sailed in Japan this morning UTC.
Hippolyte Machetti/Sidoine Dantes FRA won the title in the 470 men 13 points ahead of Guillaume Pirouelle/Valentin Sipan FRA. Daichi Takayama/Naoya Kimura JPN grasped Bronze. Wiley Rogers/Jack Parkin USA finished 2nd in the Medal Race and are 5th in the final rankings.
In the 470 women, Silvia Mas/Paula Barcelo ESP with an 11 points advantage are in the pole position for the title. Nia Jerwood/Monique De Vries AUS and Ilaria Paternoster/Bianca Caputo ITA 0.5 points behind will fight for the Silver medal. Sarah De Silva/Julia Fuller USA did not sail yesterday and remain on rank 24 among the 25 participants.

 470 - Junior World Championship 2017 - Enoshima JPN - Day 4, Rogers/Parkin USA now 5th In the forefront of the approaching Typhoon, fresh winds around 20 kn with gusts of up to 30 kn prevailed in Enoshima yesterday. No major changes occurred on top of the rankings in the two races held.
Hyppolite Machetti/Sidoine Dantes FRA extended their overall lead in the 470 men with two race wins on 11 points. Guillaume Pirouelle/Valentin Sipan FRA follow on rank 2. Daichi Takayama/Naoya Kimura JPN remain 3rd. Wiley Rogers/Jack Parkin USA, day ranks 7 an 3, are up on rank 5, a solid Medal Race position, but with a 25 points' deficit on the 3rd place. Two races are on the program today. The 10 best will qualify for tomorrows' Medal Race.
A clear situation in the 470 women as well, where Silvia Mas/Paula Barcelo ESP increased the gap on Ilaria Paternoster/Bianca Caruso ITA and Nia Jerwood/Monique De Vries AUS, ranks 2 and 3, on 12 resp. 14 points.

 470 - Junior World Championship 2017 - Enoshima JPN - Day 4, Rogers/Parkin USA 7th Both fleets completed again two races yesterday at the 470 Junior Worlds in Enoshima JPN.
Silvia Mas/Paula barcelo ESP extended their lead in the 470 women on 9 points. Ilaria Paternoster/Bianca Caruso ITA follow on the 2nd place. The best of the day (2/3) Nia Jerwood/Monique De Vries AUS are new on rank 3. Sarah De Silva/Julia Fuller USA remain on 24th.
With two bullets, Hyppolite Macchetti/Sidoine Dantes FRA increased the points' gap on Guillaume Pirouelle/Valentin Sipan FRA in the 470 men on 8 points. Another point behind are Daichi Takayama/Naoya Kimura JPN on 3rd. Wiley Rogers/Jack Parkin USA are 7th.

 470 - Junior World Championship 2017 - Enoshima JPN - Day 2, Rogers/Parkin USA 6th After the light winds of the opening day, the Enoshima seabreeze welcomed the teams at full strenght with 18-25 kn and big waves, and both fleets completed three races each.
Finishing twice on top, Benedetta Die Salle/Alessandra Dubbini ITA took the overall lead in the 470 women at equal points with Ilaria Paternoster/Bianca Caruso ITA. Another point back follow Silvia Mas/Paula Barcelo ESP as 3rd. Sarah de Silva/JJulia Fuller USA are 24th.
In the 470 men, Guillaume Pirouelle/Valentin Sipan FRA. also with two race wins, are first ahead of Hyppolite Macchetti/Sidoine Dantes FRA one point behind. Daichi Takayama/Naoya Kimura JPN and Giacomo Ferrari/Giulio Calabro ITA share the 3rd place. Wiley Rogers/Jack Parkin USA are 6th.

 470 - Junior World Championship 2017 - Enoshima JPN - Day 1, Rodgers/Parkin USA 5th Light and unconstant winds and a changing tide current made sailing difficult on the first day of the 470 Junior World Championship on the 2020 Olympic waters in Japan.
Both fleets sailed two races, and all race winners were French, but the male and female leaders are Italian.
Giacomo Ferrari/Giulio Calabro ITA finished twice on rank 2 and took the overall lead ahead of Guillaume Pirouelle/Valentin Sipan FRA and Daichi Takayama/Naoya Kimura JPN. Kilian Wagen/Grégoire Siegwart SUI are 16th, Wiley Rodgers/Jack Parkin USA are 5th among the 38 participants.
In the women, Illaria Paternoster/Bianca Caruso ITA and Silvia Mas/Paula Barcelo ESP are on top at equal points, one point ahead of Beste Kaynakci/Simay Aslan TUR on rank 3. Sarah de Silva/Julia Fuller USA are 23rd among 25 starters.

 470 - Junior World Championship 2017 - Enoshima JPN - Day 1 with USA teams This morning, the 470 Junior World Championship began on the Olympic Waters of 1964 and 2020. At press deadline (6h a.m. UTC), the start to the first race was given, to be followed live over GPS tracking.
25 women's and 38 men's teams are on the entry lists among the Wiley Rodgers/Jack Parkin USA and Sarah de Silva/Julia Fuller USA.
