 Olympic & Youth Classes - Christmas Race - Palamos ESP - Final results The 2017 Christmas Race in Palamos was concluded yesterday with the Medal Races of the Olympic Classes and some more fleetraces of the Youth Classes.
No changes occurred on top of the two 470 fleets: Winners in the 470 men are Simon Diesch/Philipp Autenrieth GER followed by Jordi Xammar/Nicolas Rodriguez ESP and Jim Asenathi/Alexander Ham RSA. In the 470 women, Jennifer Poret/Camille Hautefaye FRA remained on top ahead of Barbara Cornudella/Sara Ravetllat ESP 14 points behind. Luise and Helena Wanser GER moved up on 3rd in the final race.
Overthrow in the 49ers as the leading Ferrarese/Galati ITA finished only 9th in the Medal Race and dropped on rank 6 overall. Peter Janezic/Sebastian Princic SLO climbed on top one point ahead of Tomas and Mads Mathisen NOR. Yan Chekh/Ivan Zotov RUS followed on rank 3. In the 49ersFX, the Italian teams remained on top with Carlotta Omari/Matilda Distefano ITA as first one point ahead of Francesca Bergamo/Jana Germani ITA.
In the Finns, Deniss Karpak EST moved on top of the classifications with Milan Vujasinovic CRO and Alejandro Muscat ESP completing the podium.
In the Lasers Radial, the World Champion Alison Young GBR finished as clear winner ahead of Maria Erdi HUN and Maxime Jonker NED. In the Lasers Standard, Daniel Whiteley GBR is on rank 1 ahead of Filip Ciszkiewicz POL and Tadeusz Kubiak POL on the ranks 2 and 3.
In the 420s, Wichy Hernandez/Nacho Balanguer ESP are the winners.

 Olympic & Youth Classes - Christmas Race - Palamos ESP - Start today Today at the Costa Brava, the traditional Palamos Christmas Race begins in its 42nd edition, and 7 of the 10 Olympic Classes plus the youth classes 29er, 420, Europe and Laser Radial men have registered. Over 600 participants, mostly development teams, but also top sailors such as Jordi Xammar ESP, Alison Young GBR, Milan Vujasinovic CRO or Tatiana Drozdovskaya BLR are on the entry lists. Here the lists of participants and the official preview. For today's opening races, fresh winds around 20kn have been forecast. For the rest of the week, light to moderate conditions may be expected.

By-the-way: The Palamos Christmas race was the first regatta posted on the Internet by the International Federation IRYU in 1995 !
