Star - Bacardi Cup 2018 - Miami FL, USA - Final results

 Star - Bacardi Cup 2018 - Miami FL, USA - Final results The 6th and final race of the 91st Bacardi Cup took place yesterday with in south-easterly winds around 15kn. The day's race winner were Ian Percy GBR/Anders Ekström SWE, who improved to seventh place overall. Diego Negri/Sergio Lambertenghi ITA had a daily 4th and secured the overall victory, 2 points ahead of Robert Scheidt BRA/Brian Fatih USA in second overall. Eivind Melleby NOR/Joshua Revkin USA took bronze.
Three US boats finished the series in the top ten. With a daily third, Paul Cayard/Mark Strube finished the regatta in fifth place overall, Eric Doyle/Payson Infelise are 6th and Jack Jennings/Frithjof Kleen are 10th in the final standings. The Final results and thereport by Paul Cayard USA .

 Star - Bacardi Cup 2018 - Miami FL, USA - Day 5 On the fifth day of the Bacardi Cup, the Biscayne Bay offered light to moderate winds from the North. Again, the favourites were sharing the top positions. In the overall rankings, there are 8 former World Champions in the Top 10 ! The victory in yesterday's race went to double Olympic medalist Lars Grael/Samuel Goncalves BRA who moved up to second overall. By finihing 2nd yesterday, Diego Negri/Sergio Lambertenghi ITA took over the lead 4 points ahead of a trio on equal points: Grael/Goncalves BRA, Melleby/Revkin NOR/USA and Scheidt/Fatih BRA/USA.  Star - Bacardi-Cup 2018 - Miami FL, USA - Day 4 Moderate north-westerly winds between 8 and 15knots made it possible to complete the two scheduled races yesterday. The daily bullets went to Robert Scheidt BRA/Brian Fatih USA and Jack Jennings USA/Frithjof Kleen GER. The Norwegian Eivind Melleby sailing with Joshua Revkin USA had a 3 rd and an 8 th and thus defended their lead in the overall standings. Negri / Lamberthengi ITA and Scheidt BRA/Fatih USA remain at their heels. Eric Doyle with Payson Infelise crewing had a good day too with a daily 12 th and 2 nd. they remain 4 th overall. The other US boats in the top 10 are Paul Cayard/Mark Strube in 7th (daily 7th and 25th), Arthur Anosov/David Cesar in 8th (14/11) and Peter Vessella/Phil Trinter in 10th (16/6). Augie Diaz and Bruno Prada had a tough day with ranks 19 and 39, they dropped to 13th overall. But still, there is no discard yet and things might well change significantly after race 5.  Star - Bacardi Cup 2018 - Miami FL, USA - Day 3 An approaching zone of thunderstorms caused the race committee to cancel the race of the day. As a consequence, there are two races scheduled for today. The weather and wind forecasts are promising - the Video interview with the head race officer. The overall standings after the 2 races sailed so far show Eivind Melleby / Joshua Revkin NOR leading in front of Diego Negri / Sergio Lambertenghi ITA and Robert Scheidt BRA/Brian Fatih USA.
The US crews in the top ten are Paul Cayard/Mark Strube in 4th, Augie Diaz/Bruno Prada are in 5th, Eric Doyle/Payson Infelise 6th, Arthur Anosov/David Cesar7th and Peter Vessella/Phil Trinter in 10th place out of the 72 competitors.

 Star - Bacardi Cup 2018 - Miami FL, USA - Day 2 Similar weather conditions as on the first day, with moderate winds around 15kn, prevailed for the second day of the Bacardi Cup. Eivind Melleby/Josh Revkin NOR won the day's race by intercepting Diego Negri / Sergio Lambertenghi ITA on the finish line. In third was Robert Scheidt BRA/Brian Fatih USA. The top three in today’s race are also the top three in the overall standings.
Four US teams finished in the top ten in today’s race; Arthur Anosiv/David Cesar in 5th. Paul Cayard/Mark Strube in 6th, Jack Jennings/Frithjof Kleen in 9th and Augie Diaz/Bruno Prada in 10th.
In the overall standings Paul Cayard/Mark Strube remain 4th, Diaz/Prada are in 5th, Doyle/Infelise 6th and Anosov/Cesar 7th of the 72 competitors.

 Star - Bacardi Cup 2018 - Miami FL, USA - Day 1 The 91st Bacardi Cup Star class got under way yesterday with the first race sailed in moderate but inconsistent wind conditions. Augie Diaz USA / Bruno Prada BRA won the only, as always, very long race. Eivind Melleby NOR / Joshua Revkin USA finished 2nd, followed by and Diego Negri / Sergio Lambertenghi ITA in 3rd. Hubert Merkelbach / Jesper Sundmann GER are the best Germans in 20th place, whilst Christoph Gautschi / Nils Hollweg are the 35th best of the four participating Swiss teams. The Leaderboard.

 Star - Bacardi-Cup 2018 - Miami FL, USA On Monday the 91st edition of the Bacardi Cup for the Star class will start in Miami. Again the classic event has an impressive list of competitors this year. Among the 80 teams from 16 nations are the Olympic medalists Robert Scheidt BRA, Ian Percy GBR and Xavier Rohart FRA as well as number of former world champions. Switzerland will be represented by Christoph Gautschi / Nils Hollweg SUI, Daniel Wyss / Urs Joss SUI, Jean-Pascal Chatagny / Serge Pulfer and Will Wargnier / Sébastien Guidoux SUI.
