Optimist - Lake Garda Meeting - Riva ITA - Final results, Cort Snyder USA 4th

 Optimist - Lake Garda Meeting - Riva ITA - Final results, Cort Snyder USA 4th The sun was out for the first time on the final day of the Lake Garda Optimist Meeting after three rainy days with light to moderate winds only. In a well established Ora, two races per fleet could be held.
In the younger Cadetti, Mose Bellomi ITA finished first overall ahead of Manuel De Asmundis ITA, both residents of Riva. Bronze went to Clara Lorenzi ITA, the best-ranked girl. 305 participants.
In the gigantic 1080 boats' Juniores fleet, the winner was Marco Gradoni ITA thanks to two additional race wins on the final day clearly ahead of Davide Nuccorini ITA and Attila Martins LAT. Cort Snyder USA finished 4th. Cosima Schlüter GER on rank 5 was the best girl.

Optimist - Lake Garda Meeting - Riva ITA - Day 4, Cort Snyder USA now on 3rd

 Optimist - Lake Garda Meeting - Riva ITA - Day 4, Cort Snyder USA now on 3rd Inspite of the rainy weather, a light Ora filled in yesterday afternoon allowing to held two races (except two fleets of the Juniores).
In the younger Cadetti, Italians remain on top of the rankings. Mose Bellomi ITA replaced Manuel De Asmundis ITA on rank 1, Clara Lorenzi ITA, the best Girl, follows on rank 3. The best non-Italian is Lars Dittel SUI on rank 5.
As not all fleets completed the same number of races, the Juniores ranking list posted remains at 3 heats. Attila Martins LAT leads ahead of Davide Nuccorini ITA and Cort Snyder USA.

 Optimist - Lake Garda Meeting - Riva ITA - Day 2, Cort Snyder USA 4th The Ora was very light only (6-8kn) on the second day of the Optimist Meeting and the fleets completed only one race each.
Attila Martins LAT and Anna Barth GER are on top at equal points ahead of Davide Nuccorini ITA on 3rd thanks to a race win. The best of the huge US delegation is Cort Snyder, Coral Reef YC, on the 4th place. The ranking list of the elder Juniores.
In the Cadetti, the Italians are running the show with Manuel De Asmundis ITA new on first one point ahead of Clara Lorenzi ITA.

 Optimist - Lake Garda Meeting - Riva ITA - Day 1, with big USA delegation The 2018 Lake Garda Optimist Meeting began yesterday in a moderate Ora and rain.
The younger Cadetti - the 280 boats' fleet split in 2 Groups - sailed two races, both won by Mose Bellomi ITA on his home waters. With Manuel De Asmundis ITA and the best girl Clara Lorenzi ITA, two more Italians complete the top-3.
The over 1'000 boats in the Juniores (12-15 J) fleet, split in 6 Groups, completed only one heat. The race winners were Theo Gnass GER, Mattia Cesana ITA, Marco Gradoni ITA, Attila Martins LAT, August Berthet NOR and Lukas Lindström SWE. Cort Snyder USA rank 6 in his Group is 31st overall.

Optimist - Lake Garda Meeting - Riva ITA - Nations Trophy - Victory for Switzerland

 Optimist - Lake Garda Meeting - Riva ITA - Nations Trophy - Victory for Switzerland The famous Optimist Lake Garda Meeting 2018 was opened yesterday with the Nations-Trophy with one boat for each of the 29 nations present. Two races were sailed. Finishing 4th and 1st, Maxime Thommen SUI secured the victory for Switzerland ahead of France (Sacha Barraz FRA 1/4) at equal points. Bronze went to Italy (Mattia Cesana ITA). USA is on rank 18, MEX on 20.

Today, the fleetraces begin for the record-size 1400 participants from 33 nations and 4 continents, including CAN, MEX and the USA (with 60 boats). The official preview.
