5.5m - World Championship 2018 - Cowes GBR - Final results

The 5.5mIJ Worlds in Cowes GBR were concluded yesterday with two races.
Marc Holwesko BAH/Christoph Burger SUI/Peter Vlasov BAH won both heats a finish the Championship as convincing winners. Jürg Menzi/Jürgen Eiermann/Bo Selko SUI moved up on rank 2 on the last day. Bronze went to Kristian Neergard NOR. Daniel Schenker SUI on rank 4 missed a Medal by 4 points.

5.5m - World Championship 2018 - Cowes GBR - Day 4

Winning two races in a fresher breeze yesterday, Mark Holowesko BAH (with Christoph Burger SUI) advanced on rank 1 with a 3 points' advantage on Gavin McKinney BAH before the last races today. Another 3 points' back is Jürg Menzi SUI on 3rd. Daniel Schenker SUI on rank 4 with a 3 points' deficit as well has still chances for a Medal as well.

The 5.5mIJ World Championship 2018 in Cowes GBR continued yesterday with two races held initially in a 5kn wind, but increasing to 8-10kn during the day.
The defending Champion Gavin McKinney BAH extended his lead with a race win on 4 points. The second race win went to Jürg Menzi SUI, moving up on rank 2. Mark Holowesko BAH follows on rank 3.

 International 14 - 2018 World Championship - Richmond CA, USA - Final results Leader change again after the fifth race of the International 14 Worlds in Richmond USA with Neale Jones/Edward FitzGerald GBR on top at equal points with Lindsay Irwin/Andrew Perry AUS. 10 points behind follow on 3rd David Hayter/Trent Neighbour AUS. The former leaders Georg Borkenstein/Heike Dietrich GER had a bad day (rank 18) and dropped on the 5th place.

The initial light wind increase to about 12 during the day and two more races were completed yesterday in Cowes GBR. Finishing 1 and 2, Gavin McKinney BAH has taken the lead ahead of the Gold Cup winner Kristian Neergard NOR on 2nd. Winning one race, Jürg Menzi SUI moved up on rank 3.

The 5.5mIJ World Championship 2018 began yesterday in Cowes GBR with the first race, sailed in moderate wind and challenging current situations.
Winner of the day was Mark Holowesko BAH ahead of Kristian Neergard NOR and Gavin McKinney BAH. Jürg Menzi SUI followed on rank 4. 25 teams from 10 nations.

5.5m - World Championship 2018 - Cowes GBR

 5.5m - World Championship 2018 - Cowes GBR After the Scandinavian Gold Cup - we reported during the week - the whole fleet sailed tune-up races yesterday in preparation of the 5.5mIJ World Championship beginning on Monday. Mark Holowesko BAH (with Christoph Burger SUI), one of the favorites for the title, won the King's Cup ahead of Jan-Arend Pasman NED and Daniel Schenker SUI. The other tune-up, the Royal Haag Classic Cup for elder boats, went to Alfredo Delli ITA followed by Bruno Engel SUI, while the Hankö Evolution Cup saw Eric Pollailon FRA on top.

At the Worlds, beginning on Monday, 28 teams from 10 nations are on the entry list, among them 7 Swiss.

5.5m - Scandinavian Gold Cup 2018 - Cowes GBR - Day 3

Light winds prevailed yesterday in Cowes on the third and crucial day of the Scandinavian Gold Cup with the two previous race winners matching for the Trophy. Kristian Neergard NOR needed just one, Jürg Menzi SUI two bullets. But the situation was clear right after the start of the first race when the Norvegian had the upper hand in the start and controlled the race down to the wire. This was his 10th Gold Cup victory, the first three as crew of his father.

 5.5m - Scandinavian Gold Cup - Cowes GBR - Day 2 Light winds and tide currents prevailed yesterday during another two races of the Scandianvian Gold Cup, both won by Kristian Neergard NOR and his team. As from today, only the two race winner continue and it boils down to a matchrace between Jürg Menzi SUI, winner of race one, and Kristian Neergard NOR. However has three wins will be the Cup Winner.
