The Swiss Optimist Championship on Lake Silvaplana was concluded yesterday with two races sailed in a Southwind.
Finishing on the ranks 2 and 3, Boris Hirsch SNG replaced the up-to-now leader Luna Von Weidenbach GER on the last day, winning the 2018 title. Xaver Schwarz GER, ranks 3 and 2, advanced on rank 3 overall. Best of the younger U12 sailors was Finn Meichle GER as 25th. Robert Ulmer USA finished 47th among the 153 participants from 6 nations.

Upcoming clouds impaired the the Maloja-Wind yesterday and when rains filled in around 15h, racing had to be abandoned. Nevertheless, two heats were completed by all Groups without changes on top of the rankings. Luna Von Weidenbach GER stays on top ahead of Boris Hirsch SUI/SNG and Jeanlou Lauber SUI/CNM.

The Optimist Swiss Championship begins today on Lake Silvaplana with 154 participants from Switzerland, Austria, Germany Italy and the USA (Robert Ulmer USA). Among the favorites is the complete Swiss Team (Boris Hirsch, Anja von Allmen, Jean-Lou Lauber, Maxime Thommen, Sam Nokes), leaving for the Optimist Worlds in Cyprus just after the Swiss Championship.
