This year again, we were able to attract an extra large audience with our early morning up-to-the-minute live coverage - thank you very much for your visitor loyalty ! ..and this although we had to struggle through without technical adjustments due to financial reasons.  470 Women - Olympic Games 2021 - Final Day - Medal Race - Win for Fahrni/Siegenthaler SUI, Olympic Champions Mills/McIntyre GBR 09:00h CET - Linda Fahrni/Maja Siegenthaler win the Medal Race, advancing on rank 4 overall, 10 points behind the podium. Olympic Champions are Hannah Mills/Eilidh McIntyre GBR. Just before the finish line, Agnieszka Skrzypulec/Jolanta Ogar POL managed to move up to 4th place, relegating Camille Lecointre/Aloise Retornaz FRA, equal on points, from 2nd to 3rd place. ----- All rankings.

 470 Men - Olympic Games 2021 - Final Day - Medal Race There were no changes on the podium in the 470 Men Medal Race, held in light winds. Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS went into the Medal Race as successful title defenders, and added another race win. With 2x Gold and 1x Silver, Matthew Belcher AUS is the most successful 470 sailor of all time. Anton Dahlberg/Frederiik Bergström SWE took Silver, Jordi Xammar/Nicolas Rodriguez ESP earned Bronze. The last races of these Olympic Games are about to start in Enoshima: The Medal Races of the 470s at 7.30h and 8.30h CET. -----
First up are the men, with light winds between 5 and 8 knots. With a lead of 20 points, Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS are already the premature Olympic Champions. Anton Dahlberg/Frederik Bergström SWE in 2nd place are only 4 points ahead of Jordi Xammar/Nicolas Rodriguez ESP in 3rd. With 8 points behind on rank 3, Paul Snow-Hansen/Daniel Willcox NZL still have a chance to win a medal. Luke Patience/Chris Grube GER are 11 points in arrear on rank 5. The start of the Medal Race is at 7.30h CET. -----
Hannah Mills/Eilidh McIntyre GBR go into the Medal Race with a 14-point lead, a 7th place is enough for Gold. Camille Lecointre/Aloise Retornaz FRA are 2nd, only 4 points ahead of Agnieszka Skrzypulec/Jolanta Ogar POL. With a 9 point backlog in 3rd, Tina Mrak/Veronika Macherol SLO still have an option on the podium.  Olympic Games 2021 - Tokyo/Enoshima JPN - Day 10 - Tagesbericht - 3 Medaillen für GBR, 3 Medaillen für GER In light winds, the medal decisions were made in four classes today. --- --With Gold for Giles Scott GBR in the Finn, Dylan Fletcher/Stuart Bithell GBR in the 49er as well as the silver medal of John Gimson/Anna Burnet GBR in the Nacra 17 at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Sailing Regatta, Great Britain once more underlined its role as the leading sailing nation. Germany won 3 medals as well, the best result for decades: Silver for Tina Lutz/Susann Beucke GER in the 49erFX, bronze for Erik Heil/Thomas Plössel GER in the 49er and for Paul Kohlhoff/Alica Stuhlemmer GER in the Nacra 17. ----- Together with crew Kahena Kunze BRA, Martine Grael, .... in the footsteps of her father and 5-time Olympic medalist Torben Grael BRA ..... repeated her 2016 Rio success, earning another Gold medal in the 49ersFX. ----- Probably the biggest surprise so far was Joan Cardona ESP, age 23, qualifying with the last Finn berth available for Europe, is now going home with a Bronze medal. Zsombor Beresz HUN in 2nd wins the first sailing medal ever for Hungary! The last events to conclude the Games with their Medal Races will be the 470 men and women. After today's last qualification races, Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AU have prematurely secured the Gold medal in the 470 Men with a 20-point lead. 09:00h CET - With a victory in the Medal Race, the Olympic Champions 2016, Santiago Lange/Cecilia Carranza ARG, showed their class again. In the overall ranking, they remained on rank 7. As expected Ruggero Tita/Caterina Banti ITA secured the Gold medal, finishing the Medal Race on rank 6. 10 points behind, John Gimson/Anna Burnet GBR took Silver. After being 2nd in the first race of the day, they bounced back in the race for a medal: In 5th they are now 16 points behind the podium with (theoretical) chances for a medal. ----- Hannah Mills/Eilidh McIntyre GBR are now in the lead.  470, 49er, 49erFX  Olympic Games 2021 - Enoshima JPN - Day 10 - Starts delayed 04:55h CET - Today the decisions in the 49erFX and the 49er will be made in Enoshima. In both classes, the leaders are close together: The defending champions Peter Burling/Blair Tuke NZL go into the 49er Medal Race with a 4-point lead. Rio Olympic winners Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA are level on points with leaders Annemiek Bekkering/Annette Duetz NED in second. ----- In addition, the 470s are sailing their last two qualifying races: In the 470 men, Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS (also defending champions) can make it all clear today. They are already 19 points ahead.  Olympic Games 2021 - Tokyo/Enoshima JPN - Day 9 - Daily Summary - Gold for AUS and DEN After the RS:X male and female windsurfers yesterday, the ILCA 6 & 7 (Lasers Standard and Radial) male and female one-person dinghies finished their Olympic Games this morning with the Medal Races. ----- Matthew Wearn AUS was the superior premature winner in the ILCA 7. As in Rio 2016, Tonci Stipanovic CRO earned the Silver medal. Herrmann Tomasgaard NOR followed in 3rd place. ----- In the ILCA 6, the dominator of the past months, Anne-Marie Rindom DEN, defended her top position in a varied race to the end. Josefin Olsson SWE won the Medal Race, relegating Marit Bouwmeester NED from the 2nd place. ----- The 470s sailed two more qualification races: Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS dominated the 470 men with 2nd and 1st places and are now already 19 points ahead. 07:59h CET - The ILCA 7 (Laser Standard) Medal Race was just concluded with Matthew Wearn AUS, premature Olympic Champion, confirming his superiority with a second race rank. Thanks to a 4th place, Tonci Stipanovic CRO moved up to 2nd place winning his second Olympic medal after Rio. Bronze went to Herrmann Tomasgard NOR, while Pavlos Kontides CYP in 4th missed a medal by 3 points. Philipp Buhl GER finished 5th, 5 points behind bronze. 05:43h CET - The Nacra 17s are the first class to have just terminated the first of three races, completing the qualifying series for the Medal Race. ----- Lin Cenholt/Christian Lübeck DEN finished first in the heat held in a wind around 8kn. The Olympic regattas kick off today in Enoshima with fresh winds of around 16 knots. The first races have just started, with the 470s and the Nacara 17s being the first to go. Like the Nacra's, the Finns are also finishing their Medal Race qualifications today. And then the Medal Races of the ILCA 6 & 7 are also scheduled.  Olympic Games 2021 - Tokyo/Enoshima JPN - Day 7 - Start delayed 05:20h CET - The starts of the Olympic regattas scheduled for 5am this morning had to be postponed due to lack of wind. A total of 13 races are scheduled for today, including the Medal Races of the RS:X windsurfers (07.30 and 08.30 hrs...probably start postponement...). The 49er and 49erFX will finish their qualifications for the Medal Races today. ----- Also in action today are the Finns and the Nacra 17s. ----- The Results-Center with the daily programme and all rankings. Olympic Games 2021 - Tokyo/Enoshima JPN - Day 6 - Daily report - Gold for Matthew Wearn AUS

The 6th Olympic sailing day was held in the lightest winds so far. However, the complete program was sailed in 5-8 knots. ----- Matthew Wearn AUS earned prematurily Gold in the ILCA 7 even before the medal race. With a lead of 22 points, he cannot be caught in the final heat. Behind the leader, the race will be close: The ranks 2-6 are only separated by 15 points. ----- In the ILCA 6, Anne-Marie Rindom DEN has lost some of her advantage. But with a 7-point deficit, it will be difficult for Marit Bouwmeester NED to repeat her 2016 Olympic victory. The ranks 3 (Josefin Olsson SWE) to 7 are only 8 points apart. ----- After 9 of 12 qualifying races, three teams are tied at the top in the 49ers: Dylan Fletcher/Stuart Bithell GBR, Peter Burling/Blair Tuke NZL and Diego Botin/Iago Lopez ESP. ----- There was also a merger at the top of the 49ersFX, as the previous leaders Charlotte Dobson/Saskia Tidey GBR struggled with the light winds and dropped back to fourth. With the 10th and last race, the ILCA 7 completed their qualifications. This also marks the end of today's Olympic regatta day. ----- Philipp Buhl GER took the race win and moved up to 5th place, 11 points behind 3rd. With an 8th race finish, Matthew Wearn AUS extended his lead to 22 points and cannot be caught in the Medal Race. The third ILCA 7 Olympic victory in a row for Australia.  Olympic Games 2021 - Tokyo/Enoshima JPN - Day 4 - 21 races sailed ! The good wind conditions (12-16 knots) ensured that the large regatta programme could be carried out quickly today. As many as 8 of the 10 Olympic classes were in action, a total of 21 races were sailed. With 9 races each, the RS:X windsurfers are the most advanced with their competitions. Tomorrow there are 3 more qualifying races on the programme, then on Friday there will be the Medal Race. Kiran Badloe NED leads the men with 8 points ahead of Mattia Camboni ITA. Thomas Goyard FRA follows in third place. With 15 points behind the podium, Mateo Sanz-Lanz SUI is still in good shape in 8th place. With two heat wins, Emma Wilson GBR surfed her way to the top of the female windsurfers.  470 - Olympic Games 2021 - Enoshima JPN - A Preview The 470s will start in Enoshima for the last time with separate gender fleets. ----- In the 470 men, Matthew Belcher/Will Ryan AUS, with a lot of experience with Olympic gold and silver in 2012 and 2016, will be the top favorites for Gold again. Based on their recent results, Jordi Xammar/Nico Rodriguez ESP are the first challengers. Medal candidates also include reigning World Champions Anton Dahlberg/Frederik Berström SWE, as well as Paul Snow Hansen/Dan Willcox NZL - the official preview and the video. ----- In the 470 women, defending champion Hannah Mills GBR will start as favorite together with Eilidh McIntyre GBR. Camille Lecointre/Aloise Retornaz FRA are the fiercest rivals.
