World Sailing Youth World Championship 2021 - Al Mussanah OMN - Final results

The Youth World Championships ended yesterday in Oman in light winds. ----- In the ILCA 6 women, Florencia Chiarella PER won Gold, a medal for Peru for the first time in history. Anja Von Allmen SUI defended the 2nd place with a 6th place in the last race and took silver. ----- Thomas Proust FRA, only 15 years old, secured the title in the Nacra 15 with Eloïse Clabon FRA. Silver went to Kay Brunsvold/Cooper Delbridge USA. Axel Grandjean/Noëmi Fehlmann SUI moved up to 3rd place at the end. ----- In the 29ers, Emily Mueller/Florence BrellisfordGBR took the women's title ahead of Charlie Leigh/Sophie Fisher USA and Alja Petric/Katja Filipic SLO. ----- In the men's 29ers, Hugo Revil/Karl Devaux FRA won ahead of Mateo Codoñer/ Simon Codoñer ESP and Ian Nyenhuis/Noah Nyenhuis USA. ----- In the men's 420, Florian Krauss/Iannis Sümmchen GER moved up to first place on the final day, with Ian Clive Walker/Finn Dicke GBR and Roi Levy/Auriel Gal ISR taking the other medals. ----- In the women's event, Neus Ballester/Andrea Perello ESP were the premature winners. Silver went to Vanessa Lahrkamp/Katherine McNamara USA, Manon Pennaneac'h/Victoire Lerat FRA finished 3rd. ----- In the women's kiteboarding, Gal Zukerman ISR was in a class of her own with 18 wins in 18 races. Julia Damasiewicz POL and Héloïse Pégourié FRA took the other medals. ----- In the men's kiteboarding, it was Max Maeder SGP who dominated the event. Silver and bronze went to Riccardo Pianosi ITA and Mikhail Novikov RUS. ----- The decision in the men's ILCA 6 was extremely close: Sebastian Kampe BER won by one point ahead of Luka Zabukovec SLO and José Gomes POR. ----- In the Techno Windsurfer, Manon Pianazza FRA won the women's event ahead of Kristyna Chalupnikova CZE and Zoe Fernandez de Bobadilla Ramos ESP. ----- Federico Pelloni ITA won the men's event ahead of Boris Shaw GBR and Ozan Turker TUR. -----France is on top of the Nations Cup ahead of Spain and the USA. ----- All rankings and the final report.

World Sailing Youth World Championship 2021 - Al Mussanah OMN - Day 4

In the freshest winds so far - at 12kn it was still blowing very moderately - the first decisions were made yesterday: In 5 of the 11 disciplines, the new youth world champions have already been decided. ----- Manon Pianazza FRA won all 10 races in windsurfing, as did Gal Zukkermann ISR, who won all 16 races in kiteboarding. With 12 wins in 16 races, Max Maeder SGP (Singaporean with Swiss roots) was also in a class of his own in the kiteboarders. Federico Pilloni ITA took the title in the windsurfers, and Neus Ballester/Andrea Perello ESP are no longer to be caught in the women's 420. ----- It remains exciting in the 29ers: Emily Mueller/Florence Brellisford GBR lead the women's ranking with 5 points ahead of Charlie Leigh/Sophie Fisher USA. The Youth World Championships in Oman continued yesterday in another good sea breeze. ----- In the Girls ILCA 6, Anja Von Allmen SUI took the lead thanks to a day win. Florencia Chiarella PER and Marie Jacobsen NOR, however, are tied on points with the Swiss. Only one point behind, Sara Savelli ITA moved up to rank 4. ----- In the Boys ILCA 6, Oskar Madonich UKR maintained his lead. Przemyslav Machowski POL and José Gomes POR remain the first pursuers. ----- In the 29ers Girls, Emily Mueller/Florence Brellisford GBR took the lead with two day wins ahead of Charlie Leigh/Sophie Fischer USA. Anna Barth/Alva Feilcke GER moved up to third. ----- Hugo Revil/Karl Devaux FRA moved on top of the 29er Boys. ----- In the Girls 420s, Neus Ballester/Andrea Perello ESP remain in the lead. Manon Pennanéac'h/Victoire Lerat FRA moved up to second. ----- Ian Walker/Finn Dicke ESP took the lead in the 420 Boys/Mixed. ----- Thomas Proust/Eloise Clabon FRA defended the lead in the Nacra 15. ----- Gal Zukermann ISR has won all 8 races so far in the Girls Kiteboarders. ----- Max Maeder SGP took the lead in the Boys Kiteboarders. ----- In the Girls windsurfers, Manon Pianazza FRA continued her winning streak. ----- Federico Pelloni ITA is also the clear leader in the Boys windsurfers with 5 wins in 6 races. ----- As always at the Junior World Championships, there is also a nation ranking: Italy leads ahead of Spain and France among the 59 nations. ----- All rankings and the daily report.

World Sailing Youth World Championship 2021 - Al Mussanah OMN - Day 1

With a refreshing sea breeze, a full program was sailed yesterday in all 11 classes at the start of the World Sailing Youth Championships. ----- The ILCA 6 (Laser Radial) completed two races. ----- In the largest field of ILCA boys with 50 participants (50 nations !), Oskar Madonich UKR took the lead with two 2nd places. Jose Gomes POR and Przemyslav Machowski POL are the first pursuers. ----- The ILCA girls' fleet is led by Marie Jacobsen NOR, followed one point behind by the tied trio of Aleksandra Lukoyanova RUS, Alessia Palanti CZE and Florencia Chiarella PER. ----- In the Nacra 15, Thomas Proust/Eloïse Clabon FRA are leading after 3 races ahead of Olivier Jacquet/Femme Rixt Rijk NED and Axel Grandjean/Noëmi Fehlmann SUI tied on points. ----- The only race for the 29er women was won by Sophie Fischer/Charlie Leigh USA ahead of Agata Scalmazzi/Julia Vezzoli ITA. ----- In the men's 29er, 3 races were sailed, and Jens-Christian Dehn-Toftehøj/Carl Emil Sloth DEN lead one point ahead of Ian Nyenhuis/Noah Nyenhuis USA. ----- In the 420, Neus Ballester/Andrea Perello ESP are first in the women, and Can Erturk/Ali Beren TUR are on top of the men/mixed. ----- For the first time, the Kite-Foilers are taking part.  World Sailing Youth World Championship 2021 - Al Mussanah OMN - First races today The World Sailing Youth World Championships begin this morning in Oman with the first races. At the start are 420, 29er, ILCA 6, Nacra 15, Techno293 windsurfers and, for the first time, kite boards, a total of 430 participants from 56 nations. World Sailing Youth World Championship 2021 - Al Mussanah OMN - Practice Race tomorrow

The 2021 WS Youth World Championships will begin tomorrow in Oman with the Practice Race. As before, 29ers, 420s, Nacra 15s, ILCA 6s, and the Techno 293 windsurfers will be competing, with the kite-boarders joining in for the first time.
