With the Medal Races held in fresh winds, the first World Cup of the year ended yesterday in Palma. There were hardly any changes at the top. ----- Only in the women's Kite-Foil, the favorite Daniela Moroz USA could push Lauriane Nolot FRA from the top. ----- The ranking of the Mixed 470 remained unchanged: Jordi Xammer/Nora Brugman ESP won ahead of Giacomo Ferrari/Bianca Caruso ITA and Kevin Peponnet/Aloîse Retornaz FRA. ----- In the 49ers, Erwan Fischer/Lucas Rual FRA won ahead of Ian Borrows/Hans Henken USA and Mikolaj Staniul/Jakub Sztorch POL. ----- In the 49ersFX, Odile Van Aanholt/Anette Duetz NED were the early winners. Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA and Jana Germani/Giorgia Bertuzzi ITA follow on rank 2 and 3. ----- In the men's Kite-Foil Théo de Ramecort FRA is on top ahead of Benoît Gomez FRA. ----- In ILCA 6, Sarah Douglas CAN won with a big lead. Sunshine and classic Palma seabreeze with 12-15kn made for a perfect sailing day yesterday. In the Mixed 470, Jordi Xammar/Nora Brugman ESP now lead by 8 points over Giacomo Ferrari/Bianca Caruso ITA. Kevin Peponnet/Aloïse Retornaz FRA and Luise Wanser/Philipp Autenrieth GER in third and fourth place also still have a chance. Yves Mermod/Maja Siegenthaler SUI have moved up to 16th place. Linda Fahrni/Cyril Schüpbach SUI also dominated the Silverfleet yesterday with 1st and 2nd place, their lead as leaders (overall=rank 34) is now 9 points. In the 49er, Mikolai Staniul/Jakub Sztorch POL took the lead with two heat wins. Only one point behind, Ian Barrows/Hans Henken USA, Erwan Fischer/Clément Péquin FRA and Diego Botin/Florian Trittel ESP share second place with equal points. Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI improved to 11th place. In the 49erFX, Odile Van Aanholt/Anette Duetz NED extended their lead over Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA to 9 points. In ILCA 6, Sarah Douglas CAN extended her lead to already 20 points with two heat wins. Vasileia Karachaliou GRE and Hannah Snellgrove GBR follow on rank 2 and 3. Maud Jayet SUI improved to rank 11, Anja Von Allmen moved up to rank 40. Rosine Baudet SUI is in 6th place in the Silverfleet (=54 overall). After the leading Jean-Baptiste Bernaz FRA did not start yesterday, Michael Beckett GBR took the lead in ILCA 7, only 2 points behind is Philipp Buhl GER on rank 2. The second day of the Palma World Cup remained windy and cold. All classes were in action and a complete programme was sailed. In the Mixed 470, Giacomo Ferrari/Bianca Caruso ITA are now leading with one point ahead of Jordi Xammar/Nicole Brugman ESP. Yves Mermod/Maja Siegenthaler SUI are now 24th, Linda Fahrni/Cyril Schüpbach SUI follow in 35th. In the 49er, 3 heats were sailed. Erwan Fischer/Clément Péquin FRA and Jakob Meggendorfer/Andreas Spranger GER share the lead with two heat wins each in their group. Sébastien Schneiter/Arno De Planta SUI follow in third place. In the 49erFX, Odile Van Aanholt/Anette Duetz NED and Martine Grael/Kahena Kunze BRA share the lead. With three heat wins each in their group, Benoît Gomez FRA, Toni Vodisek SLO and Théo De Ramecourt FRA lead the Formula Kite classification. In the women's race, Ellie Aldridge GBR leads ahead of Maddie Andersen GBR and Daniela Moroz USA. Thanks to two heat wins in her group, Sarah Douglas CAN moved at the top of the ILCA 6, Maria Erdi HUN is still 2nd. Thanks to two 2nd heat places, Maud Jayet SUI moved up to 11th place, Anja Von Allmen SUI is 35th.  Olympic Worldcup 2022 - Trofeo Princesa Sofia - Palma ESP - Day 1 - Windy opening day Cool temperatures and offshore winds around 25kn made for a rough start to the new World Cup season yesterday on Palma Bay. First up were the ILCA's, the iQ-Foil windsurfers, and the Mixed 470. -----After two heats, Jordi Xammar/Nicole Brugman ESP and Giacomo Ferrari/Berta Caruso ITA lead the 470 classification. Nia Jerwood/Conor Nicholas AUS are 3rd. ----- The ILCA 6, divided into two groups, had one race each. Maria Erdi HUN and Maxime Jonker NED took the heat wins. Sarah Douglas CAN and Pernelle Michon FRA follow in second place. ----- The ILCA 7 could finish two heats. Pavlos Kontides CYP won twice. Michael Beckett GR and Philipp Buhl GER follow one point behind on rank 2. ----- The iQ-Foil windsurfers completed 4 races. With 3 wins in his group, Samuel Sills GBR leads ahead of Finn Hawkins GBR and Andrew Brown GBR. ----- Hélène Noesmoen FRA leads the women's race ahead of Pilar Lamadrid ESP. ----- All rankings and the daily report.
